Hex: adds Polychrome to a random joker, then destroys a random joker without an edition

Ankh: Copies a random joker, then destroys two random ones (not the joker copied)

#

Hex rework is so it’s takable late game but still has a downside, along with early game still being around the same. Ankh rework is just because it’s completely untakable if you have multiple good jokers, so destroying a random one still seems like a strong downside but actually manageable.

(This version of Ankh wouldn’t destroy the joker its copying or the copy it creates. So if you had Green Joker, Baron, and Rebate then it could copy Baron, then destroy either Green or Rebate)

hex yes ankh no

#

having two copies of a joker is really good

Yeah it is really good but I literally never take ankh after the first couple antes

#

Destroying all jokers is such a large ask when I could just use showman or invisible joker to accomplish the same thing

#

I think if duplicate jokers was an exclusive mechanic to ankh then it’s meh, but it isn’t

i think ankh could destroy 2 so its net -1 joker because yeah basically a free joker dupe is very strong

You know what that’s fair

balmy pier
#

2 of your choice, maybe?

#

or would that be too strong

#

ykw what might be stronger than one random actually

past bane
#

It would need a new ui for that which might be a lil awkward

#

It could be “destroy jokers until you have 3 left”

balmy pier
#

oh yeah it would

Yeah I’m gonna keep it at destroy 2 random, that seems like a good balance

I was about to suggest this same thing, destroying two random is much better balance. To me, Ankh is worth selling down to one joker to get a copy of the one you want, but adding polychrome is a LOT less impactful, especially later in a run. It really only makes sense to use hex at the beginning when you won't be as affected by losing jokers.

Honestly i think they are currently balanced, these aren't meant to be cards you take lategame, like wraith, on certain scenarios you can take them lategame (eternals) but you aren't taking this lategame most of the time, and you aren't meant to, specially for such powerful effects

#

they also are very winless, if you have bad jokers, getting one that is good or getting a duplicate of your best one and then filling slots with junk to survive, but if you have a good joker line-up then you don't get value out of these

Hex especially sucks, ankh is sorta fine

I quite like the hex change

#

Targeting ones without an edition is a neat idea

good change

#

its painful getting anything that destroys all jokers late into a run because you literally have to change your whole strategy to use any of them
