Upgradable skills that linger throughout JUST THE CURRENT RUN.
At the end of every small blind and boss blind, a "Minor arcana" pack is offered in the shop, featuring four choices;
Swords, Pentacles, Cups and Wands.
There will always be one of each suit, and they appear in order (two of swords can't appear until you've taken the One of swords)

There are 14 cards per "suit." Each presenting a different boost. There are 1-10, and Jack, Knight, Queen and King.

1 of swords - "All jokers give +3 mult when triggered"
2 of swords - "All jokers give +7 chips"
3 of swords - "Blind sizes increase 25%. Jokers with an edition have a 1/8 to retrigger."
4 of swords - "If a Joker would destroy itself, instead sell it for 1.5x sell value."
5 of swords - "If a Joker would destroy another Joker, instead sell it."
6 of Swords - "Blind sizes increase 25%. Editions give double the chips, mult or Xmult."
7 of Swords - "Scored playing cards have a 1/3 to give their rank in mult"
8 of Swords - "Scored playing cards gave a 1/8 to give their rank as Xmult + 1. (A = 2.1, 2 = 1.2)"
9 of Swords - "blind size increases 50%. All Jokers become eternal. Two random Jokers become negative."
10 of swords - "Small Blinds are 2x larger. Beating small blinds gives two random skip tags."

You may only get ONE of these four, and it will change randomly each time you see a minor arcana pack (applies to all suits)
Jack of Swords - "Scored Jacks give 1.75x mult."
Knight Of Swords - "All Scored cards give +15 chips and +6 mult"
Queen of swords - "All Jokers have a 1/2 to give X2 mult"
King of swords - "All Scored spades have a 1/25 to give a random tag."

9 of Pentacles - "Blind size increases 50%. All Jokers become rental. Whenever any joker is triggered, gain 1$."
10 of Pentacles - "Whenever you'd lose money, lose 1$ less, with a minimum of 1$."

Jack Of Pentacles - "at end of blind, gain 2$ per diamond card in deck."

Knight of Pentacles - "Rerolling has a 1/3 to not increase price"

Queen of Pentacles - "Used consumables have a 1/2 to increase sell value of that consumable card by 1$ permanently"

King of Pentacles - "Hands base mult increases by 1 per 10$"

2 of Chalices - "Using a planet card has a 1/3 to create a random 5-card planet card."
3 of Chalices - "Blind size increases by 25%. Consumables held in hand are twice as likely to appear in booster packs."
4 of Chalice - "Tarots that give enhancements have a 1/3 to also give a random seal."
5 of Chalice - "Planet cards also level up the next poker hand (HC -> pair)
6 of Chalice - "Blind size increases 25%. Spectral cards used create a random tarot and planet."
7 of Chalices - "Cards made by the Emperor and the High Priestess have a 1/15 to be negative."
8 of Chalices - "Booster packs may be rerolled once."
9 of Chalices - "Blind size increases 50%. All Jokers become perishable. Consumables used during blinds are used twice."
10 of Chalices - "At the end of boss blinds, create two random negative consumables"

Jack of Chalices - "Consumables can appear with editions, granting the score to the next used hand."

Knight of Chalices - "Whenever played hand contains exactly 2 ranks and suits, create 3 random skip tags and destroy a random played card."

Queen of Chalices - "Booster packs are also rerolled in the shop"

King of Chalices - "Jokers cannot appear twice in the same ante. Rerolls cost 2$ more."

Does oops all 6s boost the luck chances here? Because some of these effects would be more powerful with a higher chance.

What would that be called... buffs that linger throughout the run, where you get a choice between multiple, and choosing one unlocks another if not multiple

I think that'd be called a skill tree

(Also there's one voucher that directly effects scoring, and its a very clear outlier)

the core gameplay is already perfect imo, it's just the individual mechanics that need fine tuning

they have some extra nuance that makes them slightly different but ultimately you get them for the same reasons and they have similar general goals

Something like this, and dare I say any additional content shouldn't count towards base game completion, and should be togglable for that reason

Several games make DLC content not required in base game, especially for the sake of achievements

Adding even let's say 20 jokers to C++ is alot more time and work

I genuinely will be upset if the 2025 content update thunk promised raises the C++ requirements instead of a new achievement all together

COD, TBOI, slay the spire, and dead cells, to name a few games, all do this due to understanding that adding work to what was considered 100% is a bogus concept
