Okay, Im making a two player Balatro game that anyone can play. All they need is a D20, a D6, and two decks with different colors (including the Jokers.)

Players: 2

Setup: Each player has a full deck of cards (with jokers), each player grabs 8 cards for their hand.

Gameplay: The two players have 3 discards (Each discard is up to five), and 4 hands they can play (just like the game). Scoring is the same as the game too, the only difference is that you're competing with another person instead of a blind, and they'll be scoring points too. If you see a joker in your hand, place it infront of you, draw a replacement card, and roll the D20 to get the type of joker you have. You can only have 1 Joker.

There are 3 rounds,

  • Round 1-2: Normal Table.
  • Round 3: Boss table: acts like the boss blind feom Balatro. With specific debuffs or modifier. Determined by rolling a D6.

Boss tables:

  1. The Park: All black cards are debuffed.

  2. The Speakasy: All red cards are debuffed.

  3. The Psychic: Both players MUST play five cards per hand.

  4. The Manacle's brother: -2 Hand Size.

  5. The Eye - No repeat hands.

  6. The Needle: Play only one hand.

The person with the most chips after a round gains a point. The person who gets the most points after a certain amount of ante's (your choice!) wins!

Here's where I need help. Suggest some Joker's down below! Here are the current jokers (7/20):

  1. Blackjack: +4 mult for every club or spade number card scored scored.

  2. Redhead: +4 mult for every heart or diamond number card scored.

  3. The Spy: adds ×2 of the highest rank your opponent plays to mult.

  4. Sly Dealer: When activated, steal's your opponent's Joker. If it's your opponent's second Joker, it cannot be stolen. Self destructs after use.

  5. Hydra: When activated, roll D20 three times. Choose one of the three as your new joker.
    (More jokers below!)

wait this is sick, is the deck like a normal 52 cards + 2 joker deck? and then the d20 determines the joker that it is? or did i get it wrong?

The sabotuer:(activates once when pulled) perform a discard on your opponent hand immediately

The detective: upon drawing the detective, manually select one card from your deck, and place it in your hand. reshuffle your deck.

Craps(triggered by rolling a 7(for flavor)): gives 2mult*the number of jokers you've had since the last time you've had Craps(if this is the first time, that would be number of jokers you've had this game)

Causimalism: Re-run all all cards from Ace to 9 (King, queen, jack, 10) All other cards are weakened

I.E. a straight 3-7 can contain 2 of every card

Current jokers:

  6. Detective Dan: when activated, discard up to five cards, sift through your deck and pick as many cards as you discarded (e.g. if you discarded 3 cards, draw 3 cards). Reshuffle after drawing. (Costs 1 discard)

  7. Four Fingers: Flushes and Straights can be formed with 4 cards.
