That looks good! Check out the #1389135576745250906 for stuff about the texture pack - I had a list of planned retextures and the thing I had in mind for the legendaries was just toads in the outfit of each of the clowns, but frankly this kind of thing seems like a better idea, maybe it can be like different variants of toads lol

I'm not sure what exactly happened with this mod but the original creator is no longer in the server.
I originally discovered it's github page that only has two of the suites on it.
I made a pull request on there to fill in the other two suites with duplicates but coming here I see a few more of the cards were designed.
I'll update my pull to include these.

like someone else was working on something similar iirc and sharing progress

Here's my "all suites" update that includes copies for the other suites along with the new diamond sprites that were found in this thread.
I was able to get into contact with them and updated it to include the full resolution sprites along with one that wasn't posted on here.
If anyone is good with sprite art and thinks they can do the style of these faces please contact me.

Updating the github again with a malverk texture option. It just has the initial ones that lenuilu created along with a few quick ones I added but I'll have to come back to it later to fill out the others.

Well, the images are there they just don't, do anything right now until I can figure out the set like the whites
Added texture from SM64 to Stone enhancer. Made gold match the gold of coins and steel match the color of the metal cap.
I think this looks neat

Okay so referencing the Shrimple deck mod I was able to get the custom backs working
But
It also makes it the default one
I'm hoping there's a proper way to do it with Malverk but if not this might be the way to go
Just means if you wanna use another style you gotta disable the mod
If we end up sticking with this I'll just remove the Malverk since it won't be necessary
I mean on the plus side this way the locks also work

My only gripe with using the banana is
It's another golden color
Instead of a black color to balance out
I'm debating on changing it to a black hammer
But I really like the banana for an ace
I was thinking of making a high contrast version

where the card art were hue shifted to look more like their suit color

honestly the gold banana looks fine, it just needs some getting used to

i think she looks pale compared to peach
Her skin tone is more pink compared to Peach
But also Peach has so little shading compared to the other characters it was a bad reference point
I might go back and add some more shading

I kinda still wanna use the mushrooms I did but they didn't use those in the DK games as far as I know
Maybe if I can figure out how the config works I could set it up as an option for people to swap out the regular mushroom to the other options...
Unrelated but I updated someone else's "Luigi's Casino Cards" mod for smods and replaced the face cards since theirs were too similar.
I got permission to edit it just waiting for permission now to post it on gamebanana

For some reason the modicon for this mod is getting placed on BadApple's Joker mod.
I'm also realizing I only didn't make the lucky enhancer so gonna see if I can whip up something for that

We've lost the locks but I'd prefer to lose that then cause issues with other mods

Okay so minor bug with Malverk, once you use a custom texture that replaces c_base it doesn't unreplace it when you disable it.

Adding in the keys to this so it only replaces the right decks

I'm really hoping the Malverk bug for c_base is fixed
Updating the mod to have modern standards of a json file
Pushing that update.
This also includes the needed code for the card backs
But malverk currently has a bug where if you use a texture with a c_back it does not disable it if you turn it off.
So you'll need to restart if you want to disable it.
It matters for almost no one but I'm going back and merging duplicate commits in the history.
A few more of these could probably be merged but that's good enough.
It's so neat being able to compare the files like this 😄

I was originally considering putting him thre but I wanted K. Rool to be high on the list
is funky kong on 8 because the propeller mushroom is also on 8 and that's from the wii and he's iconic for his inclusion and meta dominance in mario kart wii

Okay so now I know how to fix the nil error for card sleeves with my jank replacement method
So I feel comfortable adding that to this mod
