you guys maybe know me as the guy who took endless seeded seriously. I read on a daily basis: "What is the best seed/ god seed/ strongest seed/etc.?" and what are the best strategies. Thus, I compiled this document to answer these questions. I am sure some answers will be unexpected (like what is the best hand to play in ultra high rounds).

I know that there are still tons of typos in here. Spare me with those at first please. As you can see, I am not fully done with the document right now. I just wanted to get this out to those who are interested in seeded runs.
Feel free to point out flaws in the content.
right now, it has no guide on how to optimally start tarot looping in regards to the RNG (random number generation) function of the joker, Perkeo
Also, for 6.12
make sure your vampire is to the left of midas mask if you have one, so vampire clears your enhancement first then midas mask applies instead of the other way around (since you want to play gold cards)
if its to the right, then golden ticket wont work, although business card and rough gem still will
not neccessarily.
if you have it on the left, the scaling is slower, which can help

There are two things that I really think you should change about this document:
- You really should edit this document to be more useful to people who don't already know the setup. You don't even explain what jokers you're using to execute this strategy in the first 15 pages (not sure if you do later, but the point stands that you should explain it first.) Like, adding a section that just explains the primary goal of this strategy would do wonders at making the rest of this document have context. And if you like, you can mostly just copy the discord message you sent the other day explaining it into the document
- You should just focus on the optimal strategy, and cut most of the sections that focus on unoptimal strategic choices. Like, this entire strategy revolves around the Anaglyph deck, you do not need to write subsections explaining why stuff like the painted deck is useless for this one strategy. This is especailly the case for explaining things like Mult cards and unoptimal ranks. The only things you need to explain are the things you want to avoid. If you just explain what things are best, the reader can figure out what things are unoptimal. (for example, if I was writing a strategy guide on the baron/mime build, I really don't need a section on why the 1-10 cards are useless for this strategy. Just explain why kings are good.)

and then use hieroglyph. Now I entered the (also set up) shop of the previous
ante, where I also collected 2 blueprints. Thus, with a few microptimizations, I
had 4 negative blueprints and many other jokers. If you are looking for a way
to resolve negative tags, focus on building the engine first. A secondary criteria
might be to pick up as many unique jokers as possible as they are needed for
the next strategies.```

I think that it is not super useful for unseeded but there are tons of things that might be good things to consider even when playing unseeded
Like the concepts I list (consistency, separating money and score, distributions), how fast some strategies scale and much mich more
I did have a theory that rolling the shop changed if the soul shows up, but I'm not sure

You could just put the strategies at the top of the page. I think that would solve both your problems at the same time.

The fact that the explanation of the strategy is at the bottom makes the document very hard to understand, even for people who want to learn it (like me)
And if somebody is reading a 44-page document on high-level balatro, I assume they're smart enough to not make that claim.
Also also, you can move the section explaining why baron/mime is worse to right under the explaination of the strategy
Basically, I think the document is awesome, but I think that your view of it is warped by the fact that you understand the strategy so well. Adding an introduction that explains it, then going into the details, would make the document more useful for people who want to replicate your strategy.

not really a problem, if it outpaces growth from brainstorm -> more score from acrobat you just change your scoring to something larger 🙂

The second thing now is that I would say there might be a category of „stronger seeds“
They are „stronger“ in a way that they allow for the exact same gameplay while allowing you to play fullskip

my normal rule of thumb (from testing twice lol) is about $5k can get you the set of 5 jokers you want (unless showman is really buried)

for hologram record, I think you can copy both Certificate and Marble Joker because of its different timings

iirc for hologram record drdreamo used the number card generating spectral (copied with perkeo)
I think Blueprint/brainstorm overall has to copy 4 (maybe 5) jokers to achieve the record

Since There is a bug with the Water (Takes away all of your discards), when you have multiple copies of chichot
and if you have n copies of chicot, the amount of discards is n*intial discards

it's not that, it's that chicot changes something that's not checked/reset when the round ends. that's why the handsize stays. maybe there's something else, but don't think discards is it
the bug with Mancle also works on the water, the only difference is it's not permanent

I know Perkeo seems to choose based on how "old" a card is, so you can sell or use certain cards to change the outcome, but if that's not an option are there other ways?

I meant more like, rolling in the shop more, opening packs in the shop, and buying/selling cards that I don't leave the shop with, but from my testing these don't seem to work. the only things (without restarting the game) that work are changing what consumables I leave the shop with, which makes sense, but makes the outcomes I can choose from quite limited.
ah, I think I understand. in my case, if I want Perkeo not to miss, it might be possible for me to use this bug to manipulate the sort_id of the consumables I receive, allowing Perkeo to hit the right target without the need to sell consumables. but I need to use Ankh to submit a WR run, so it wouldn't work if I wanted to verify the run. I found a "good enough" solution without the bug by using and buying consumables at a different time, so I think I will go with that. thank you for the help!

ya was looking through this list #1325152910660604066 message unfortunately I didn't see much explanation of making immolate filters, what I really want to find is a crimson bean abuse bug that's better than the one BU tripped over. b/c heiro and petro are there the crimson boss changes though, I didn't check if the voucher skip lets you get retcon ante 8, the repeats are good b/c you get temperance in shop and so on. and I haven't found an ante 5/6 neg tag target yet, baron's possible, nothing else is that exciting up to card 60ish

I got 33 handsize out of a neg perkeo + neg BS + bean (18 hands? 3 copy jokers + burglar + vouchers). couple unlucky hits between perk and BS a few times, but wasn't horrible

granted for DreamO stuff, crimson bean exploit is pretty tame

The problem with money is time. I could easily do billions and trillions but it would take too long to calculate
would the limit of 2^53 or 9e15 be a concern to you?
I guess a mod fixes it? (I see cryptid pics with much more cash as well)
at 2^53, floating point numbers (which balatro uses), Valid floating point numbers are so coarse that only vaild ones are multiples of 2
so if you do 2^53 plus 1, it gets rounded to 2^53 meaning at ante 2^53, you can never get past it (even with SAUS), and reserved parking + rough gem stops giving money
at 2^54, business card stops giving money due to being rounded to 4
at 2^55, Golden Ticket stops giving money (alongside gold cards in general)
at 2^58, lucky cards stop giving money, meaning the only way to get money is in the cashout screen at the end
But since money is being multiplied instead of repeated addition with cryptid (difference is important), this limit no longer applies
understood. but to do the big numbers you need QoL mods anyway. so your hand would be like $1ks of cash once instead of a bunch of $4. so limit would be a little higher?

I don't know what it does internally (or if it's just saturn mod). without animations, you only see the lump sum plop in in the gui

It's probably because you have too many double tags or something, I'm going to ask @eager canopy because I'm not sure myself what the solution to your problem is
When a joker replaces another, it maintains the same rarity (i.e if you have a Castle in your joker slots and the shop is about to spawn another Castle, only uncommons can replace it unless you have Showman)
only expection is if you have every rare and/or common without showman, then the default joker spawns

if you have ever scored naninf, you cannot reopen the save. how many tags, jokers, consumables do you have
ok so i haven't scored naninf yet and i've started using talisman as playing hands got too laggy and took too long.
i have like 130 jokers (i've deleted the useless double ones to reduce lag), 22 tarots, 220ish double tags
soooo i've been able to log into an older save using save editor and replay the whole shop, i can play the game but if i close i cannot go back to ante 22 boss.
also the lovely console says not enough memory, which is weird as i have 64Gb and gave balatro maximum priority
not a V-Ram problem as well, as i've disabled animations and from HWInfo it keeps being quite low

i dont really know then. you should not have problems from your jokers etc.
but better hardware does not help. balatro is coded VERY inefficiently
mine was pretty good but the calculations are just REALLY inefficient
yeah a mod to speed up calculations would be great imo
but rn i'm more focused on being able to play, speed is gonna be a problem later lmao
talisman is the best you can have. thats also why i stopped the wr run. i could play out for years. a single hand took 10 hours to calculate. and i had 500 per ante from ante 30 on
yeah. it was dumb. this one unfinished run took already 700 ish hours. the ingame time is just around 200 h because of the lag
ah makes sense, 200h seemed waaaaay to low
ok seems there is no solution, and actually the issue itself doesn't really make sense. i'll try again tomorrow to see if i can play from shop to shop without crashing nor closing the game, but i guess i'll just abort the run

ok so this seed is actually pretty decent as that rare tag in ante 4 is goated (blueprint, invisible that gives brainstorm if you sell photo, dna).
i'm still struggling to get a good economy and with deck building
probably a matter of skill issue, but i haven't got a single diet cola up to ante 10.
the first negative tag is in ante 11, and even with 6 double tag i cannot find any sequence of useful jokers.
on the other hand, deckbuilding is excellent thanks to the early dna, and i kept doubling death to convert all the cards.
it might be better to copy temperance while having dna so a better resolution of the negative tags in ante 11 might be possible, but i struggle to see any other possibility to improve
ok the next tags are in ante 16 and 17, i i need to have full tarot looping and possibly common looping for that ante, because even with hyerogliph i doubt i can gather enough negative tags AND keep enough money to make that ante 17 tag useful
wow this is a great puzzle, i like that
that's about where I gathered all the tarot cards for that. maybe by selling off a specific card you could get better hits and copy them faster, I didn't check that
but tarot looping is just so painful to actually do I didn't bother (oops, wrong seed. there's better seeds for a good start and getting deck fixed is a good use for perkeo in general though--as long as you have enough $. so start with temp/hermit a few times and deckfix cards later is fine too, but get $ coming in from jokers ASAP too)
is there a way to know which card is gonna replace an already owned one ?
basically i want to manipulate that:for example if i buy baron in reroll 20, i could get a diet in reroll 21 instead of a natural baron
cards can only be replaced with those that share the same rarity as the original
