pun on the word straight. A joker that is either bent in a 90degree angle, or else maybe a boomerang? it allows a straight to be made with five adjacent cards with fold in the middle, like

6,7,8,7,6
9,10,J,10,9 (etc)

Or an even more potent version, perhaps the image of crotchets on a stave., and it allows a straight bend anywhere, or have multiple bends:

2,3,4,5,4
J,10,J,Q,K
6,7,6,5,6

Similar idea but for Three of a Kind, and also the triple matching ranks of a Full House:
The jokers image is of a “neighbour note” pattern on a music stave and it allowes Threes of a Kind, and the three matching cards in a Full House (but not the pair) to be made using one card of an neighbouring rank, (and aces are considered to be adjacent to K’s and 2’s) so:

J,10,J (three of a kind)
J,Q,J (three of a kind)
4,5,4,A,A (full house)
A,2,A, J,J (full house)

More potent version, it also works for four and five of a kind (one card of neighbouring rank allowed in making the match),

————————-

Another idea is a face/off looking joker and it allows flushes to be all blacks / all reds, so flushes can be made with hearts&diamonds or clubs&spades. Essentially the joker version of the checkered deck.

———————-

A joker that gives all cards in one suit (random each blind) wild card status.

Smeared joker exists for the flush idea

My ideas already exist!

I feel so vindicated

Joker idea: “Stooge” and the picture is a row of audience members with one of the people clearly being the joker.

Effect: After drawing cards, 2 in 6 chance to draw +1 card from your deck to complete a high ranking trick.

Basically like a stooge in a magic show.

what do you mean high ranking trick

#

also its 1 in 3

ashen plank
# fervent crown what do you mean high ranking trick

Like it tries to finish full houses, straights, flushes, fours of a kind (etc) for you, if the one final card you need is in your deck. (Like how a stooge in a magic show helps you complete the trick.)

The reason for 2 in 6 is balance

1/3 to 2/3 is too much of a buff IMO,
But 1/3 to 1/2 is OK.

oa6 doubles probabilities, not adding 1 to them

#

2/6 would go to 4/6

ashen plank
#

Is there also one that adds one?

#

I could have swore there was, but, I might be misremembering

fervent crown
#

theres only oa6 that modifies probabilities rn

ashen plank
#

Then I am mistaken.

Ehh… add balance changes as per user testing <runs away>

So your flush idea

Isn't that just smeared joker

Joker based on the game Strip Jack:

Draw 1~4 extra cards per J,Q,K,A discarded.

#

(That discard obviously)

onyx oasis
#

I feel like this is a bit more balanced than the other suggestion because it requires a bend in the middle and not just anywhere

#

Probably could be common because it's not that powerful

Wormhole:
Straights can be made from both high cards and low cards
(This would make Q, K, A, 2, 3 a viable straight)

#

Not serious because it’s a kinda dogshit joker

#

But I think it’s funny

ashen plank
#

Tbh, that’d be more then a subtle upgrade your deck’s Aces, and Aces are probably the most likely cards you’re gonna be cloning, buffing, enhancing, etc, and they’re gonna be the left most card in hands when played.

#

Niche yes, but there are games I could foresee where I would see a joker that does that, and I’d grab it.

cobalt nacelle
#

You know what, that's fair.

ashen plank
#

And with that (frankly) OP joker where you can have a gap in your straights? Jesus.

“Cool I have a straight; A, Q, 6, 4, 3” 😅

cobalt nacelle
#

True. But then you dedicate 2 joker slots to making straights

ashen plank
#

Can be fun though, straights

cobalt nacelle
#

I really don't like straights lmao.

ashen plank
#

I tend to put straights, flushes and straight flushes in one “camp”

#

And two pair, full house, etc in the other

#

Leg day:
When you play a hand, level up the lowest levelled hand besides the one you played.

#

Mathematically potent, but extremely anti-useful.

Like the complete opposite of the Space Joker. (1 in 4 chance of levelling up the hand you play)

Strong One Joker

Gains x0.01 mult consecutive everytime you select a card in time with the background music

ashen plank

Mach 1

Gains +50 Chips and +x0.5 multi per ante (currently x1.5)
-1chip and -0.01 multi per second of playtime this run.

halcyon wind
#

25 seconds of playtime = 1 ante of gameplay????

#

That is insane, and legitimately never happening

ashen plank
#

The speed run record is like 2:40 minutes

#

None the less as written (even just to be goofy) probably a little too stringent.

#

150 chips, x1.5 multi, plus 50chips and x0.5 multi per ante, -1chip -x0.01 Mult per 2 second of run time
