Most people would agree that Square Joker feels a bit bad currently. A slight buff I am recommending would be so that it includes both played hands AND discards.

New Version: This Joker gains +4 Chips if played or discarded hand has exactly 4 cards

I believe this buff would not make Square Joker great by any stretch of the imagination, but it would make it feel a bit better and accelerate its scaling. It would also guarantee scaling at least 3-4 times if you are one-shotting blinds, rather than just once.

Honestly, square joker is fine if you put the time into scaling him

I think most runs at best you're cruisin like +8 chips to squoker per round once you get goin, if not even just a one hand win with +4, idk
