heyo! Im setting up a new mod that (you can tell from the title) is Isaac themed.
I will need some help because what im trying to accomplish goes far beyond my capabilities (coding wise),
but until then i will set up how the new mechanics work.

im currently gonna work on a little google sheet so i can keep track of every item and how i'll transfer its mechanics to balatro

also if anyone has any ideas for the cards then feel free to share (its also ok to give ideas for cards that already have effects)

yea im probably gonna have to come up with 700+ items, so i 100% wont be able to do this alone

yea im only going to add meaningful effects, and im not afraid to switch up most of an items mechanics if it makes a better and more interesting card
theres actually an important thing i have to address, do i make the tboi items jokers or consumables?
because it can change effects drastically
Active items consumables, passive items jokers?
Maybe consumables you can use like 3 times before they disappear?
that would be a bit weird tho, having the same 'type' of thing in both jokers and consumables
Maybe a new cardarea for Items
I think having them be jokers with round cooldowns like invisible joker would work. passive items apply once, active items can keep being reused
this was my original plan
what if the passive items were applied like vouchers, BUT each item pool requires a different challange to unlock a random item
I think it would be better to have them unlocked for individual runs like the hidden hands
Yeah I like the idea of active items setting their "cool down" like invis joker with passives acting like vouchers
Add a new button on those items that says "Use"
yea we need that
for now i might think of different conditions for every item pool requirement
oh you could also have passive items be waaaay weaker overall but acti more like planet cards
maybe, but i kinda prefer the voucher idea (but we will have to make a tracker for that in the current run stats)
For effects, you could always look at Four Souls and see how items were applied to (an entirely different type of) card game there. get inspiration on how to adapt them

you might also wanna add Pill consumables to make it so less items are made more complex

Guppy's Tail - 1/3 chance of a bought consumable giving a Booster Pack of the same type, 2/9 chance of it being instantly destroyed

Guppy's Hairball - Spawn a playing card that increases in rank with each round cleared, splitting into two 2s after growing from an ace

I like Guppy's Collar. I like them all, but I wanted to comment on Guppy's Collar real quick. I wonder if there's another item we can use to make a 50% chance to grant one discard when all discards are used

can some cards be consumables? Cause I just want to like, port over my Spindown dice idea
a Balatro styled Spindown Spectral would be amazing

i think blind blind requirement reduction makes the most sense, BUT it should be percentage based (like 5% reduction but stacks so that each one gets weaker and weaker)

What if Binge Eating just gives you a choice between a normal Joker and a food joker that like
swaps
every few seconds

or only eternal jokers show up in the shop

isaac would just be with a D6
while tainted isaac would have to actually buy the items and store it in 8 joker slots
or maybe 10 for some joker play
but it would cycle through 2 items on each item

Anyways unlock condition sounds fair? Beating a deck on gold stake is definitely a challenge
and maybe you get specific unlocks for beating decks on certain stakes to replace the uh

red key can let you beat a blind (can be used to stall for better shops/reroll scamming/money)
what if you used red key on ante 8, and then had to beat a final boss to unlock the tainted deck?

Also, for the suggestions and such, if you have a GitHub repository you can enable Discussions. that's got a lot of good options for things like that and it's tightly integrated with the code
There isn't code yet so that's gonna be a bit
Anyways I think ante 8 bosses should be related to the run end bosses (Mom, Stan, Mega Stan, etc.)

i think ik how the bosses in this mod are gonna work, most are gonna be normal boss blinds, while the ones that aren't randomly chosen (ie mom, satan, isaac, etc..) will be the final bosses
Maybe you could have the Mom fight around ante 4, Mom's Heart at Ante 6, and then a final boss at ante 8?
maybe, but that would feel very clunky

No but you could also do the Isaac logo with Balatro logo colors
This mod is now kinda half combined with Balatro: Repentance. so any work done is more for that
i think that mod also has working jokers but they still use template art (from what i remember)

the credits on the card is more of the thing for victins mod to credit me, you don't need to add that bc this mod will be mostly, if not entirely my art. also its ok to dm if you wanna change something about it
