@ripe gulch did you fix the collectable chaos card bug (not giving rerolls past the first one) for your version of Fusion Jokers? I'm 99% sure it's in the original and I haven't figured out how to fix it for DeFused

You can flip them. So basically you have two jokers in one joker slot
Question though, whenever I do get a flippable Joker/consumable, it's always blank. Is that intentional?
from what i understand, yes because you're supposed to select it another joker, then press the "merge" option on the non-double-sided joker to make it become the card on the other side

as for crashes, if the game is just hard-crashing whenever you play a hand, that's a sign that it's just getting too much for the game to process
retriggers are what impact the game the most
i mean, looking at your joker tray there are a fair number of marios
you're retriggering every joker in that tray like six times or more
and that is a lot for the game to process

you should update cryptid.
normal is referring to a variable called G.GAME.probabilities.normal, it's a global variable which is mostly used for listed probabilities (like the wheel)
cryptid 0.5.0 has an issue where the Scalae joker winds up making the variable nil, which effectively bricks anything that uses this global because now the variable doesn't exist

so i got a double sided jimball with nothing on the other side
flipped it over
and then later shuffled all the editions of my cards and jokers
the blank card that used to be double sided became sepia
and it basically killed jim all
also i duplicated the joker and one of them became square for some reason
it crashes when i do this and open the settings, Only brainstorm in installed and therefore also lovely
brainstorm conflicts with nopeus
no, you either use nopeus for more speed options or brainstorm for other stuff
until brainstorm removes its relation with speed options, you have no dice

But I guess it might work of perishables too which for higher stakes would make a big difference

Chicot already exists though and people clown on him (unfairly imo) as only a legendary

debuffing
if you mean debuffing, making every card immune to debuffing is a lot more impactful than you might think
consider some of cryptid's blinds, like the pin, or cruel blinds, like common muck or the day/night
any other sources of debuffing are negated as well
something which debuffs jokers or playing cards you depend on can really choke a run
Yes, defusing sucks in blinds, but there's already a base game legendary, which people make fun of, that disables all boss blind effects. I think its a good legendary, I just can't see it as anything above that. Maybe Cryptid somehow changes the calculus on that. Sorry if so
remember that jokers are evaluated after the blind is evaluated first, so if chicot gets debuffed by the blind before he can trigger, then that's a problem
and there's been many cases where i've been in a run where chicot isn't available and there are mass-debuffing blinds
it happens a lot more than you think
Huh I'd think that would have been a consideration given Verdant Leaf being a base game blind
plus, chicot users should beware anyway, 0.1.0 has this blind
i've also been considering buffing it so that it removes a joker slot per eternal it destroys, just to make sure it's even more painful than it already is
and, there are epic blinds which are completely immune to being disabled whatsoever

nesting is when you put a mod into a folder within the mods folder

you're not supposed to install the contents of a mod's folder into the mods folder, the entire folder should be in the mods folder

I'm having problems involving this mod relating to Betmma's Vouchers, specifically with the Gravity Set, where using ANY consumable will cause the partial level ups, wasting a bunch of time.
use nopeus, or don't use the gravity set
I already have Nopeus installed and enabled, and it still takes like 3-5 seconds per EVERY consumable. I'll disable the Voucher set for now.

hey. You might now know me but I am the guy that pushes balatro to it's limits. Unfortunately, the game is at its limits once again and crashes much too often. One major aspect is the sheer number of double tags I have. The number now exceeds 2000. Here is a video of me resolving around 1500 doubletags https://youtu.be/njRJpiIzF8s. I think you can see the difference in performance.

I remember some time ago it didn't count stacks of consumables beyond the first towards consumable limits
It still acts like that, mainly with duplication and Negative consumables.
Also, consumable stacks only count as 1 consumable

- As good as this feature is to have, it can wind up breaking things that rely on the event queue when checking for cards in hand
want to ask, I'm using Incantation and I can't find the button use all stacked consumables at once.
only some consumables have it but you can force it by enabling unsafe mode in the mod's config (might crash with some consumables or too many of them)

Using Code Deck, Code Sleeve, or Antimatter deck instantly crashes (tested with Jen-DevModpack)

you can just go into the source code, find the place that bans it and remove it from there

honestly chess cards are one of my favourite parts of almanac
yeah my initial complaint about this mod was that it just kind o felt like "watch big number go up" in spots but stuff like the chess cards and new planet cards have hooked me
i think the most obvious starting point would be to make it impossible to use pointer to get pointer
(assuming this hasn't already been done since i last got it, which was a while ago)
it's the Obvious Correct Option when you draw it because getting it into your hand is so much better than using it immediately
i mean in most scenarios you buy a pointer and try to get a copy of it then you can soawn perkeos to dupe them

Wee: Get a bunch of 2's into your deck however you can, Standard Packs, Death, Strengthing Aces, etc.

And if you're REALLY just not liking them, you always have the option of disabling Cruel Blinds and Blind Editions. Uninstalling is just a spiteful reaction.)

Some of them are from Cruel, but others are in Almanac.
You can also disable Blind Editions, to make it slightly easier on yourself.
I've disabled both I can still never get past any of those bosses

Decending on Ante 1 is somewhat inconvienient but much more managable
descending on literally any ante is a run killer
I've had that happen to me before, it's not pretty...
But I don't let that discourage me. I just pick myself up and try again, usually with a different strategy.
i have never beaten descending a single time even on incredibly powerful builds
i don't care how much base it is it could be like a set 100 points and i'd still lose, doing shit to the operator is a low blow
Decending is 2/3rds base
so on ante 1 thats what, 166?
Descending usually can be overcame with raw stats, so going hard into Planet Cards with high Chip gain can help with that. And having XChips can actually be more beneficial due to the usual higher number.

straddle was revised, if you're continuing from a saved run on an older version, chances are it won't work on that run
ok so could i copy around code in the lua and hypothetically make a deck for the editions that are missing decks? like bismuth, wee, jumbo, etc
because i remember having a ton of fun on wee deck making every card into a 2
you're free to create a custom deck.
the edition and enhancement decks are created by cryptid, i have no involvement with them

download the latest version of OT4, i've already fixed that
the code in cryptid for modifier decks is in Enhanced.lua and the part for jen's editions starts with if (SMODS.Mods["jen"] or {}).can_load then
it all follows a very straightforward structure, so you should be able to patch in the missing editions easily (or just the ones you want to play with)
alternately, if you want the patch to be outside cryptid, you can just use the standard SMODS.Back construction and in its config set cry_force_edition to the edition you want

i got bismuth deck to work but i will say that the game froze and crashed when i tried to play a card with a single joker
so i think that's why it doesn't have a deck lol
bismuth is the only one i can get to work though. everything else throws an "attempt to index a nil value" with something about the sprites

turning off non-essential shaders did the trick there so
that's because wee and jumbo don't use a shader

i just got this insane set of jokers on exotic deck where i somehow managed to get every single legendary in the game
my hand has been scoring for over 3 minutes
it was like. that one card that levels up chip values on cards when a tarot is used and gives you negative soul cards when one reaches 1e100
and i leveled up a TON of my cards at once with it and it gave me like 70 negative souls
and i kept using tarots and it kept giving me more
and the first negative soul i got was the legendary that makes every card added a negative
so i was jsut able to spam the soul
