Plaque Name: The Perfected (If its too long lemme know, "The Void" could also work.)
Description: Johnny is the tool created and owned by the Mad Magician. This tools sole purpose was to consume existence. Existence beyond gods, beyond time, beyond names. For this the Mad Magician created a living tool, something that had no thought beyond consumption. The Mad Magician placed this being into a housing, his prized hat. Things started slow, but eventually the world inside Johnny was populated with millions of different things. From other people, to other planets. However Johnny had a fatal flaw; a limit. The Mad Magician swallowed his pride and sought his creator for help. His creator bestowed upon him a Godsmarble. The Mad Magician, using the gift from his creator, had fed the godsmarble to Johnny. This seemed to have no immediate effect, but The Mad Magician was wrong. The Mad Magician was consumed by Johnny, and Johnny, leaving the prison of the hat, grew indefinitely. The Mad Magicians final words?

just for reference this is what Johnny would look like on the inside if you looked up after being eaten. Except now because of the godsmarble, consumption is the only thing it can do. Previously the Mad Magician would store things inside of Johnny, but now anything eaten by him, stays inside forever. After the godsmarble was consumed, If you looked up after being eaten, there would be nothing (as in no exit anymore).

there is no google sheet for this mod, and there are no plans for blinds currently

How do you go about adding these sprites to Balatro anyhow? Is it just a lua script for certain Jokers to go "if <quality> then <use multiple sprite areas>" or
the spritesheets are added to the game as an "atlas". each atlas has a width and height value which determines what the dimensions of a single sprite on the sheet is
when creating a joker, i can reference a specific x and y value on the atlas grid to get the sprites i want
So all the sprites are on one sprite sheet too? Or are they referenced via file name as well
currently every joker card of mine has its own atlas
but at some point i may compress them all to use just one atlas

it's rai's interpretation of luke carder, it's a fictional universe that's based on cult of the lamb and inscryption
there is no stoat legendary, but there is a card design of P03 which still has a pending face sprite from rai
thanks to the help of @marble sand and @zealous mist, i've eliminated all traces of borrowed shaders from my mod, all editions now have an originally-designed shader

Card Name: The Sleeping Monolith
Plaque: Monolith
Lore: A slumbering monolith, the size of a star, sleeps alone in space. Explorers started to talk about it as if it was sleeping because if you got close to it, it would vibrate rythmically and make an almost purring noise similar to breathing. Scientists studying the monolith have found its materials are not of the periodic table of their time. This material was perfectly dense and the frequency it vibrated at made subjects in close proximity to it sleepy. The monolith also has rings, similar to that of jupiter or saturn. But the inside follows an almost star pattern before fusing with the monolith itself once close enough. Analysis of the rings materials shows it is that of human blood, and when some of the blood is removed from the ring, breaking it, more flows back and connects the ring once again.
Description (For jen): ||The monolith is the plaything of the Creator. (Gave the godsmarble to the Mad Magician before) It was originally made to blow up stars, essentially a giant railgun. But because of the Creator's focus on Johnny and the Mad Magician, the monolith has been in a dormant sleeping state. Its previous uses have destroyed Earth as well as a few thousand stars of neighboring solar systems, either for the fun of Creator or to remove possible competition. Creator's current use for it is as a foe for Johnny, since Creator believes it has gotten too greedy, but his apostle is not ready yet, so he cannot descend. The monolith uses constant human sacrifices given to it by Creator and uses blood as its primary fuel source. ||

As In when you get one the other disappears from the loot pool, or if you try to get both at the same time it just wont let you?
If not Its completely fine, but It would be a cool thing since it matches up with the lore that these two are supposed to be arch enemies

i've tried my best to communicate to knockback to make their shaders more friendly to sensitive eyes (initially, most of them were extremely flashy when i first got them)
they've either slowed down or completely eliminated the flashing of the editions they've given to me, but i do have a feeling some of them might still cause eye strain for some people
obviously i don't know for sure, the only way i can know is if i show them which i will in a moment
just got back but SO MUCH better

it involves math, plenty of it. it's not easy to learn, and even when you do learn it, it's difficult to get the math right
thats why it'd be awesome if there was a software that just let you drag some sliders around and it'd do the math accordingly...
I'm sure it wouldn't produce as good a shader as doing it manually
but would make it so much more accessible for the average bloke wanting to make a mod for balatro or whatevs
sometimes, the best way to learn and practice something is by taking an example and following this approach:

This post will now relate to all mods I've made, not just Jen's Almanac. This is in preperation of me planning to restructure my workflow.
All of my mods will be moved to one single GitHub repository. All other posts I've made will be deleted when this happens.
This helps me focus more on maintaining and developing my mods; it's a healthy decision to have everything more unified rather than spaced out.
this will also help equalise the amount of attention my mods yet somewhat
obviously, this shouldn't change anything to the consumers, you can easily pick out which ones you want if you don't want every mod
it's highly unlikely that i'll be creating a discord server related to my mods, so i think it'll suffice for me to remain here

So after some testing woth debug there's definitely some inconsitent behaviot with Aurinko, sometimes, especially with foil it seems, it subtracts the 10 mult from the poker hand instead of adding it, and sometimes it does nothing at all. I've also noticed ghost editions where the planet shakes and there's a fanfare, but no visible edition. These cards also exhibit odd inconsistent behaviot
we've come to the conclusion that it's an incompatibility with bunco. bunco is just an invasive mod, unfortunately
could also be another mod I'm using tbh, but none of the others try to put editions on consumables, so that's the likely culprit
the fake-outs ("ghost" editions) are not out of the question though, i experience it as well and i've got nothing else trying to apply editions on planets in the same way as aurinko
i'm not sure what causes it, though. so far my debugging hasn't gotten me anywhere in figuring it out
I take it since you're running both, Jen's Almanac Editions will be compatible with Aurinko?

Description: A human head with a terrifying protrusion. From a distance It might look like the face is caved in, like a hole. But from up close or the side, you'll see that it is in fact the opposite. A layered flower petal pattern similar to a rose, but made of flesh. An eye colored berry grows in the center. Its purpose is to grab anything that covets the berry. If you reach for the berry, the petals will close around your hand and inject you with poison from hundreds of prickly thorns, those of a rose. The poison effects the victims eyesight, eventually making them completely blind. It plays on the sin of greed, as the berry is said to be able to restore eyesight to the blind. It grows from corpses, or more specifically, in the faces of them. Essentially, if someone wants to best a blind, they can take there chances with this. If they make it through, the reward would be legendary, but if they should fail...

All of my mods have now been moved to a single GitHub repository.
You can still choose which mods you want and which ones you don't. The benefit of having everything in one repository is that I don't have to go back and forth between repos as I update my mods.
Don't nest the mods! The mods should be installed in the Mods folder, not within a folder that's in the Mods folder.
Nopeus and brainstorm are incompatible right now.
I mean it's compatible if you already chose speed above 32
But it will appear as nil, and you cannot choose above 32 again if brainstorm is installed after
it's more of an issue of brainstorm trying to be an everything mod

also, i've merged your PR for incantation, but i'm defaulting the vanilla-esque setting to off
incantation was never intentionally designed to be a QoL or vanilla-esque mod
when you mention the mod not being completely vanilla because of perkeo's logic, it's really just falling on deaf ears because it was never the intention from the beginning
incantation is also a little silly alongside aurinko but i suppose that's to be expected
considering there's no edition but negative that incantation would need to check for by default

at the beginning incantation only checked for negative and base, but now it considers all editions when checking for a merge as of 0.1.0

the best way to convey a halo is by placing it where it belongs, but w/o that, thin and glowing does make it more easily readable as a halo
the halo at the moment needs to have no glowing, that's for later

i've been considering adding functionality where character jokers can have a "dramatic" sprite (aka an expression of complete mental trauma or etc.) which can be used to emphasise incomprehensibly-high scoring hands
perhaps even gives room for new quotes
it would be funny if the fire started to change color at higher scores (#5 or something?)

Yes, I know, but due to being able to redeem tons of Vouchers infinitely, the base Editions on Vouchers are slightly weaker.
- Blurred Vouchers give a fixed 1 in 3 chance for cards/Jokers to retrigger. Can apply multiple times.
- Glitched Vouchers randomizes the values of the Voucher between 0.1x and 10x, if possible.
- Oversaturated Vouchers doubles the benefits (and downsides) of the Voucher, if possible.
- Astral Vouchers upgrade your base hands by ^1.05 Mult.
glitched already works with vouchers i think
glitched does work on vouchers, most vanilla vouchers already use config for their values, like recyclomancy for example

Hey, there's an issue with "Incantation" that prevents copies of Code cards to be used. For example the prompt for the "Class" code card doesn't show when using a copy
copy_card() looks like it doesn’t work properly when this mod is installed

there have been a few rare cases of "ghost" cards (consumables that when used do nothing)
i actually had that happen to me, one of the cryptid jokers have a chance to create a copy of a code card when it’s used, and when the copy’s used it does absolutely nothing
It might have to do with when the use consumable calculate joker thing is called
unfortunately though, without any method of consistently reproducing the problem, it's kind of hard for me to know what's actually happening
i can upload my mods folder if needed, has the new joker that causes the bug in the first place

step by step what happens during the process
newest cryptid main to get the new copy/paste joker, i used debugplus to spawn an oops (so copy/paste hits every time) and any code card (class is a good example). using the first class will work perfectly fine, however using the copied class will do nothing (and even shows a sell value of 0)

Might be able to improve Nopeus with a patch like this
i'll add it as a new option because this can be dangerous
in fact i might move the 999x speed to its own option
Could make it a config option ala Talisman
it'll be integrated into the vanilla settings menu to avoid confusion
replaced 999 speed with a new fast-forward option
setting it to on will set the delay of events to 0 (or near-zero for ease events), similar to 999 speed
the difference is that gamespeed can be adjusted independently of fast-forward to affect the speed of some miscellaneous animations
if fast-forward still isn't quenching your impatience, you can set it to unsafe mode which brute-forces events to run as fast as they come in

for safety and functionality reasons, the fast forward setting will automatically be set to "on" at start-up if it was initially "unsafe" beforehand

but at a later point in the mod i may add "megatriggering" which is a second layer of retriggering that can even retrigger cards like canvas, making them do a double-run of retriggers
yes, it's going to result in frequent late-game stack overflows, no doubt about it
but ultimately it's the player's choice
you can always just... not use it, or cut down on retriggers

he is working on it as that is pretty much the entire point of Incantation, however, the mod is still in heavy testing phases and is prolly hell to code. In the future, pls go use the actual incantation mod thread and not this one.

jokers aren't as easy to stack as you might think.
Consumables for the most part have all the same value (unless you're playing misprint deck from cryptid, which incantation doesn't support), while some jokers scale and some activate based on position etc.
and you also need to consider all consumables that affect jokers, because what if you have 5 stacked jokers, and wheel hits them, or ankh, or whatever other modded consumable

New : Fast-Forward option, can be set to Off (normal behaviour), On (set event manager delays to mostly 0), and Unsafe (makes game execute events all at once)
New : Card Popup Text option, can be set to All (normal behaviour), No "Again!" (stops retrigger notifications), No Misc. (stops all except arithmetic or important notifications), and None (stops all notifications)
When exiting the game, Nopeus will automatically switch the Fast-Forward option from Unsafe to On, if it was Unsafe before closing
⚠️ Crashes that happen exclusively within Unsafe mode will very likely not be addressed. It's called "Unsafe" for a reason!

i never considered it, but if it's still creating a full deck's worth of cards (including the full set of new suits alongside the vanilla ones) then it's fine
yeah i just didn't expect it to create the extra two suits as well
since "full deck" is usually just the four vanilla suits
now i wonder how many cards it'd create when we get the sigil mod

the tarots that add a million cards to the deck are fun but it's kind of unfortunate it makes the game exponentially slower as more cards are in deck

what's weird is that the fps doesn't recover when you restart
I imagine it’s to do with the number of cards the game is displaying on screen at once and how it’s aligning them all in the card area, you could look at cartomancer and see if that helps you out
