Hey guys, ever wondered why balatro, a roguelike game, doesnt have a hp bar? Well now you dont need to, because of my idea: Health Bars! Let me explain how they would work.
So, Health in balatro is a bit weird, since there are no enemies that directly attack you, but blinds that dont do anything and make you reach a certain score to beat them. When we add health, it would be simple:
- Small Blind Deals 1 dmg x ante if you lose
- Big Blind deals 2 dmg x ante if you lose
- Boss Blind deals 5 dmg x ante if you lose.
- Ante 8 Bosses deal 10dmg x ante if you lose.
If you lose the blind but you dont die, you continue your run, but you wont earn any blind money or interest or extra joker income.
Health differs based on the deck or challenge, so heres the HP info for each deck.
- Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, and Black Deck starts with 25 hp.
- Magic, Nebula, and Ghost Deck start with 20 hp.
- Abandoned Deck starts with 30 hp.
- Checkered Deck starts with 20 hp.
- Zodiac Deck starts with 15 hp.
- Painted Deck starts with 35 hp.
- Anaglyph Deck starts with 10 hp.
- Plasma Deck starts with 15 hp.
- Erratic Deck starts with 10-40 hp randomly.
