Recruiter can't rercuit. Discarding on the Combat Ace Conquest deck did this.
Started a new run on the same deck since trying to continue crashes. Selling the Recruiter got rid of the crash, so it's definitely Recruiter.

if you start a run on red deck and use debugplus to win you will never experience this crash

I've got an issue with crashing upon reloading a game in progress. Happens even when just exiting to the main menu. 100% crash rate. Even crashes when I exit a brand new game with no actions taken. I have done a clean install of the fine-tuned pack, removed some troublesome mods after scanning the discord (JokerDisplay, Bunco, The-World-Ends-With-Jimbo was giving me guff too, same with themed jokers) and I am still unable to figure out the problem. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

we know, there's nothing else you could or should be using
you should update everything just in case, I think I remember there being a specific version of something that caused that crash

And yes, was on full pack but dialed it back to fine-tuned as the fullpack update was a little too unstable. Figured the fine-tune would fix some of that.
To re-install I wiped the mod folder, created a new one and ran setup
Though at some point I was trying to get mod manager to work... maybe that's causing some issue?

The way my manager install any pack is to wipe Mods folder completely then install...so it "shouldn't" be an issue🫠
I suspect I made a mistake trying to fix this at 3am, probably last ditch troubleshooting with no brain juice left. I've got a clean install going.

Alright, I had been getting this crash a few times last night, but then it stopped for a bit today. It is once again back - mousing over a negative Jackpot joker, from Vanilla Expansion, is causing this. Due to the fact it worked for a bit, my best guess at the moment is whether it crashes or not is dependant upon what card it has chosen? I have some stone cards in the deck, perhaps it is selecting those and there not being a suit confuses it? When I have gotten the hover text without crashing, all the times I recall it was selecting the 7's of clubs that are most of my deck's cards.

Hmm, maybe its not based on selected card? I have a cryptid card currently and have just tried playing a three of a kind of 3 threes, 3 sevens, and 3 eights, separately, all clubs, and the 7 three of a kind crashed the game as soon as one tried scoring, while the other ones started scoring fine. So if that's due to the Jackpot still, it seems to be landing on 7's of clubs, which is also the only card I've seen it land on when I can mouse over it without a crash.
Orrr not, that time three 7's of clubs didn't crash when played...

Alright, playing the hand again at 0.25x speed, Jackpot definitely isn't triggering on the 7's of clubs, so it has a different card selected. Not sure why it crashed on the first attempt at the three of a kind for them
I've played most of the cards in the deck, though, so can't check the others to see what one it has selected currently
it shouldnt be picking any stone cards or anything like that
im no longer working on that mod in particular but ive sorted implemented the jokers into a mod im working on atm
so my recommendation would be delete that mod

It happened, actually! Ran into this one when opening a bonus blind. Literally thought the words "I literally can't lose this" just before and then just instantly died and it was kind of amazing. I've been backing the run up a lot since I do tend to find crashes often, so could save scum a bit after.

Ok, so I tried the latest build, and it lets me change the mods directory and the balatro directory, but it still launches Balatro.exe instead of Balatro - Modded.exe. They are both in the same Balatro directory. If there's some way you can take the name of the Mods directory (in my case Balatro - Modded/Mods) and put the first part of it as the exe name, that should work

Avoid buying stow area. It seems to break infinity and make all probabilities permeability 0 even if you sell infinity of it gets debuffed like that
I could, but all the save data I have is on the main Balatro exe and I was hoping to have this modpack as a secondary modlist rather than primary. But it's not a big deal, I can probably get it working for me (since it seems I'm the only one doing this lol)

seems like restarting modpack manager after install and using play fixes the mod not getting recognized with modpack manager
That run died when I got a bit too excited with my infinite code card generator, and doubled the values on the joker that triggers the leftmost joker twice until it was instead doing it a million times for the next round. Just for lols, I then threw the exotic that makes a negative copy of a random joker on shop exit on the left. Surprisingly, the game managed to start doing the animation! It finally crashed once around 1200 jokers were in though.
So much for my (mostly non-existant) dreams of a million jokers...

For the record, this is the second time I've seen a spectral card from a blank spectral seem to become something other than what it first landed on - both times, I only noticed the changed card after reloading the save. The other one would crash the game when being selected, and so was basically just a dead consumable slot. This one, at least, I could use and sell.
I think the first time it looked like it landed on a... Cleanse? Whatever the one that makes some cards in hand fluorescent is. It crashed on trying to use it for that purpose, and when I came back, it was a Sacrifice instead, if I recall correctly.
I think I was trying to use the cleanse on some of the weird cards-turned-consumables from the Cryptid Hammerspace spectral. I've tried looking through my logs, and I do have a few crashes, but I don't remember which ones were for this, nor is that save around anymore

I've only had one "fake" soul, and that one was from a blank. It seemed to wind up as something else when the save was reloaded, but kept the animated crystal from the soul card it once thought it was

I guess just that it sometimes might try to apply it to more than just the Soul because it might be based on how legendaries do it, and they're actyally a whole (ish) class of card
The mod manager hardlocks when I press update. Yesterday it threw an error about a missing git command which I can no longer replicate. Did I miss something during the git install process, is that why the manager isn't working for me? We've already determined that I might be sub-par at clean installations haha.
I am reworking on the update function, for now, delete the modpack folder manually then download > install

other boosters work fine, just arcana and celestial
also its just a straight up crash

I downloaded this and wanted to have a the mods be a combination active and inactive but now the game crashes when I open it.
Here was the error message:

Update the mod, it was fixed recently

It's not a JokerDisplay issue, I think Paperback is not checking if the JokerDisplay object exists
You can disable the mod through it's own menu if you don't want to delete it every time you update

This version should fix update problems, and after some rest I will attempt to fix play function
I mean you are free to do anything as long as it is best for your self
The manager program is a project mean for fun, so I will add or fix features here and there, but I cannot guarantee it will work (so I will never push it up to default install method)

Fair warning that it adds a large amount of time on startup (>10 seconds) because it’s trying to hash all 70 mods before booting up the game

- critical security exploit gets patched
- cheater goes back through the commit history to find exactly where the fix was and undo it
surely if someone is that commited to cheating they can just locally compare the different downloads?
Still possible to this by comparing the source code of the releases (they’re not obfuscated, that would break Rule 1) but I hope it’s future-proofing against potential cheaters who want to use the git history to find flaws

The best the replay file can 100% guarantee is that none of the actions were cheated
But still, something like taking the savefile to get the seed and using The Soul will never be 100% preventable
Yes, we do plan on encrypting the savefile and seed to not make it easily accessible
You could also attach a prefix to random seeds to make them longer than what Immolate/The Soul can handle, but it would be relatively easy to just add support for that in your own private version to cheat with it

The time travel function can bring back certain historical version of the pack
useful when you accidentally updates modpack mid-run or find the pack too buggy and want a older build
It can only go oneway so if you with to fast-forward after time travel, you need to update the modpack to the latest first

Some observations on my test run on steam deck:
- Cryptid just don't work. It will crash the instant title animation ends and title screen about to load.
- Not just yet's end round button, which is mapped to left shift, which is mapped to Y button on controller, conflicted with discard button (also Y)
I believe also the deck selection screen doesn't work properly (works fine with right stick mouse and manual mouse via steam input, but via left stick inputs doesn't work)

Not really a bug, but some interactions between the Tier 3 Vouchers mod's... well, Tier 3 Vouchers, and the more powerful Cryptid ones will prioritize the Tier 3 Vouchers ones. Maybe the Cryptid ones should be considered Tier 4 while you have Tier 3 Vouchers installed?

Maybe. B1GInf gave me all the Money Tree upgrades, but Money Beanstalk was overridden by Money Forest, so instead of unlimited interest I got a max of 40.

But you cannot do that if the balatro.exe itself is not present

Ok, finally got around to testing if the stacked red seals and death issue happens on normal settings for that mod, and answer is yes:
- duplicating a card with stacked seals on it results in the transformed card having the "Red seals added by deja vu" setting for Stacked Red Seals more seals than the card it was copied from, i.e., one more seal on the copy on default settings, or two more if that setting is "2 seals per deja vu", etc.
You can either just use the new card as the base to copy another card and get yet more seals, or, with infinite death cards, can just bounce two cards back and forth, copying each other, to stack the number of red seals arbitrarily high. Happening in Fine Tuned, I think it happened in Full when I tried it a little while back.
