#Banishment

why would you want to remove a joker from the pool
To leave stronger jokers in the pool
i feel like it would be helpfull mid/late game, when youre looking for one specific joker to help your hand
This can work with pivoting, as if you need to sell your jokers anyway as you're done with them this just means they don't come up again
doesnt impact the pool that much, because the pool is so large
different with consumables
Neither does Showman, but the Consumable pool is very small so this has that added benefit
1 in 145(0.0069) in the same pool, remove 4 and you get 1 in 141(0.007)
the amount of times ive lost baron runs bc i couldnt find the mime are crazy, i would personally love to increase my chance of finding it
extremely negligible difference
That's per seen Joker, over the course of a run that does have an impact
1/145 of seeing desired joker
1/150 of seeing desired joker
The odds of seeing a desired joker over 20 chances is
(1-1/145)^20 vs (1-1/150)^20
Huh, I didn't expect the Math to work out like that
Although this assumes only a singular desirable joker
It either needs to Banish more Jokers or only do consumables
Yeah even if you have 5 desirable jokers this is a marginal increase to the odds.
🤷♂️ the math never lies
Changed. I will say it should still banish itself after use, as repeat uses can create infinite money via tarot looping
Getting rid of 4 Consumables is still pretty big, especially when removing some of the less useful Tarots from the pool
I think having the option of Jokers isn't awful since it automatically replaces them wjth another of the same quality, right? So thinning 4 rares doesn't make other rates more common but raises the odds of getting it from the rare pool, no? (I'm not super familiar with the inner workings of Balatro so I could be wrong)
