my main complaint is that the potions look like jokers
is that a bad thing?
and when the potions succeed their effect there's no way to tell what it did (that might be nopeus at 999x speed)
they're a consumable, i think they should look like something else
look at arcanum for example, the alchemical cards have a distinct art style
and a color palette to differentiate them
you wouldn't need to change their art, just the background and give them a little border maybe
give them a color unlike tarot/planet/spectral/alch cards
- I could barely make these look decent 2. I need to figure out how to make that art style in the first place and 3. Idk

I was thinking about making it so you need the respective edition for the jokers to appear
that wouldn't really solve the problem; they're just too specific to be useful and never worth building into- I mean if you get the polychrome one you were probably already going for polychrome anyway cause it's the best vanilla edition, but the holo and foil ones, why would I build into those? they give similar effects to placing a red seal on the edition, except it takes a joker slot. I'd swap around the effects of the holo and foil ones, like sdm0's mult n chips, so that the holo and foil jokers cover each other's blindspots in scoring, turning foil and holo into +10 mult and +50 chips regardless which of the two you get, which can be better than polychrome in certain builds (but still not many). Maybe even fuse them into one joker too, also like mult n chips.
i've only ever had one decently successful run with the non polychrome ones, and that was because i was trying to go for polychrome and got super unlucky and kept getting foil or holo instead so i had to make do

Not everybody excells at working in a systemitized and "sensible" way, sometimes chaos is the only option. I know I'm that way at least, lol
I will not add any decks and enhancements until I know what I'm doing

Problem is that I feel like with genuine criticism a way to have consistently updated dev versions or proper github maintenance is something a mod I feel really needs. Especially since the last few times I've used it, it just has never worked properly release or otherwise and would crash me out to the main menu 🙄

I mean, sure but that has little to do with whether you try to take the time to learn before hand, and more just needing some quick and dirty playtesting
and well... stabilitiy sometimes comes in time. Many mods are effectively alpha software, and behave likewise
Still, learning on the job is preferable to just putting it off for the sake of trying to be sure of what you're doing before trying to implement it
I mean I'm probably just being pessimistic that each and every time I had tried to use the mod it's come broken right out of the gate and I had to try and manually fix it myself.
I got lucky as it was working when I tried it, and I only stopped it because of possible, but unconfirmed mod compat issues. It ended up my bigger issue was from another mod altogether I think
Still, a mod crashing on boot on release happens all the time, including to experienced modders. I've had it happen with things like bunco and betmma's mods a few times
Though maybe not those exact examples, well known mods like those
though they have had other crashes, just not for sure on game startup
...

- **Wise Joker **(Based off of Philosopher's Deck): Alchemical Cards and Booster Packs are free. If you have Alchemical Tycoon, enhance the spawn rate of Alchemical Cards to 4x.
- Herbalist Joker (based off of Herbalist's Deck): Gain an Alchemical Card before each Boss Blind. If you have the Cauldron voucher, gain a 1 in 4 chance to retrigger any used Alchemical cards.

- Banana Joker (Based off of Gros Michel Deck): Create a Negative Gros Michel upon Raising the Ante. Cavendish can appear multiple times, and for each Gros Michel you destroy, double the chance to find Cavendish.
- Rainbow-Smothered Joker (Based off of Rainbow Deck): If a Color Card you have is part of the rainbow (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Lilac, or Pink), double the rate they gain rounds, and do their effect twice when used/ticked up.
- Philosophical^2 Joker (Based off of Philosophical Deck): Philosophical Jokers now give +2 Joker Slots instead of +1. All Buffoon Packs have a fixed 1 in 6 chance to replace all of the choices with Philosophical Jokers.
- Blasphemous Joker (Based off of Blasphemous Deck): This Joker gains x1 Mult for each Joker you have, BUT also reduces your hands played by 1 for each 2 you have.
Cryptid (This is going to be a flubbing doozy. 🥴)

- Wormhole Joker (Based off of Wormhole Deck): Jokers are 5x more likely to be Negative, but -1 Joker Slot. At the start of each Ante, 1 in 100 chance to create a random Exotic Joker.
- Equilibrium Joker (based off of Deck of Equilibrium): Each shop slot has a 1 in 3 chance to be replaced with ANY random card/item. All items made this way are 1$ more expensive.
- Conveyor Joker (based off of Conveyor Deck): Jokers cannot be moved outside of rounds. At start of round, duplicate rightmost Joker and destroy leftmost Joker.
- Redeemed Joker (based off of Redeemed Deck): Whenever you redeem a Voucher, 1 in 3 chance to redeem each upper-level Voucher for it, and -3$ for each you get.
- Blank Joker (based off of Blank Deck): Does...nothing? Did the printing press just send us a blank card? Seriously, it doesn't even have the Joker on it! (Does nothing on its own, but...if you own it and 9 other Deck Jokers at once, then it'll transform into...)
- Antimatter Joker (Based off of Antimatter Deck): Combines the upsides of ALL of the Deck Jokers that you have a Gold Stake win on. Can only be gotten either by the method with the Blank Joker, or through finding it with Equilibrium shenanigans.
- Critical Joker (based off of Critical Deck): After each hand played, 1 in 5 chance for ^2 Mult, but also 1 in 5 chance for ^0.5 Mult.
- Super Misprinted Joker (based off of Misprint Deck): Any future values that you get have a 1 in 4 chance to be randomized, either on cards or poker hands.
- Infinite Joker (based off of Infinite Deck): Double the amount of cards that you can select, except for played hands.
- Enhanced Jokers (based off of the Enhanced Decks): Select a Enhancement type. You have a much higher chance to find Jokers and Arcanas that are related to that Enhancement, and are given a 1 in 4 chance to retrigger any cards with that Enhancement.
Antimatter deck joker feels possible
- Suit Jokers (based off of the Suit Decks): All cards in deck are automatically converted to [suit], and the respective suit-debuffing boss is much less likely to appear.
- CCD Joker (based off of CCD Deck): All Playing Cards that you find can now naturally have a random Consumable tied to them.
- Very Fair Joker (based off of Very Fair Deck): -1 Hands, -1 Discards, and Vouchers have a 1 in 2 chance to disappear and not count when you buy them...why the hell would you willingly use this? 😟

Also, are the probabilities listed fixed, or nah? Cuz if so, using many luck modifiers on most of the potions (with a few exceptions like the Voucher one) probably SUCKS.

1.0 is stable if you’re saying 0.9.8 is stable. It just has frequent updates that occasionally break things that have already been made, but its benefits far outweigh having to adapt your code every now and then. In fact, it’s been discussed about moving it into a beta release before full release

like you don't have a lot of the same APIs you do in modern SMODS + the convienience of it so backporting it is gonna be hell
