As an Easter egg on A39, there should be a final boss with exactly 1 less chips required to beat than NaneInf.
Beating this boss should pull up an endscreen showing “you win” saying “There’s nowhere to go from here!” in place of the Endless button.
It would be a neat Easter egg for those who manage to get there.

I think they meant the gap between floating point number is larger than 1 at 1e308. So, no, 1e308 - 1 is not fixing the issue since it is equivalent to 1e308 in the code. It needs some other code work around for it work or just use a better numbering system.
