#Joker: Læce / Mad Doctor

I think something along these lines would be possible, though probably a bit hard to code
Though I do think it's a pretty interesting idea
It also looks pretty fun to use
Could probably be when sold fuse left and right jokers together
I don't even know if it would need to be nerfed by having only half of their effect
It would pretty much be a joker that gives a card negative ultimately
Could add a stipulation where you can only benefit from this effect once a game or once a big boss blind
Tho with how rare soul is I don't know if it would be too strong to use it multiple times
But yeah, I think it could totally staple or tape two jokers together so they only take up one slot. For all intensive purposes aside from Stencil and Abstract it would be as if you had two jokers
It's basically the same as turning one of the two jokers in a negative, but you halve their effects, and if you sell one the other gets sold too.
A spectral Ectoplasm does a better job and you don't need to find a Soul stone for that.
What does this actually accomplish? In most contexts, losing half the effect of two jokers is worse than just selling whichever of those two jokers is less useful. If both of the jokers are really useful, then im ruining two of my important jokers to... make space for a different, probably less useful one?
wait I just saw that its random too lol thats even worse than I thought
there is 0 chance im risking ruining my two best jokers just so i dont have to sell my worst one
It basically makes two cards into one, It accomplishes what i stated in the image.
it's not an amazing joker by any means. But i think it's pretty well balanced. I don't think it's a bad joker idea. It's just not godlike.
True, it's kind of like Ectoplasm but not the -1 handsize.
I wouldnt speculate that you'd be making space for a LESS useful one. It could make your run better with an extra space. There's risk involved, obviously.
my point is how is "making two cards into one" better than just having one card.
100% of one joker is almost always going to be better than 50% of the same joker and 50% of a worse joker. You dont gain any actual value. It doesn't matter if joker A or joker B is the better one, whichever of the two is better is the one you want 100% of, not 50% of one and 50% of the other
"it depends" without an actual example isn't a great point. The example in your original post is bad, I cannot imagine a single circumstance where my deck would rather have the two half joker over one or the other
like either my deck wants to make two pair or it doesnt, this isnt a game where you need a deck thats mediocre at everything its a game where you want a deck thats good at something
I honestly think if this was a common that cost 1 it would almost never get picked
The only real usecase I can come up with is consolidating joker stickers, i.e. turning two eternal jokers you're stuck with into one eternal joker so that you can get something thats actually more useful for you. But I'd rather just have a form of interaction with the stickers directly
hm. okay
It's ectoplasm but instead of -1 hand size, it's /2 joker
instead of selling the legendary to do this, i think it should retrigger every time you sell 2 jokers (provided they are compatible), stitching those jokers together
the problem is that every joker easily compatible would receive like no benefit from this
i feel like food jokers would benefit a little. if i'm understanding correctly, a base ice cream/popcorn stitch would be "+50 chips. -2.5 chips per hand played." and "+10 Mult. -2 Mult per round played."
it seems to be halving the negative effects as well as the positive ones
