Forged Deck
Start with 1 The Devil Tarot Card and 1 The Chariot Tarot Card.
Playing cards with a “Held In Hand” ability also trigger the ability on scoring.
-1 Hand

Gold Card/Blue Seals would need to be played in the winning hand, if using scoring to get their rewards.

I feel like the -1 Hand here is more justifiable than in Black. You start with a Gold card, meaning your economy doesn’t just die to the -1 Hand. While your scoring and scaling will take a hit, it would instantly be able to grant more scoring (from steels) unlike Black Deck.

No, this would not make Jokers based on Held-In-Hand become On-Score as well. Just card abilities.

This is a very cool concept

#

Your economy may still take a hit, especially since you need to line up the devil for the final hand

#

And draw the gold card every round after you use it

#

Honestly I don’t think you need such a harsh downside

#

Playing Steels can pop off with retriggers, but we already have that with glass, it's a known strat-- this one just doesn't have as much ×Mult but can't break

#

There's already a solid tradeoff there, and the difficulties with gold cards

#

I might go for -1 hand size, since you normally want a big hand for these cards, but now you're encouraged to play them

#

Seems thematic and not as harsh

#

Another, similar idea: "When you play a hand, create a duplicate of it in hand until scoring ends" that way you can play with a lot of the held in hand jokers-- play 5 kings and have baron proc the duplicates in hand

#

Not having any synergy with stuff like Mime or Baron feels like a missed opportunity

Mhm, it just feels like you'll build around held in hand, but if you ever try to use the deck effect with those, it doesn't work
