yea thats what supposed to happen no? thats how it works with bloodstone and retriggers, so i assume thats also what happens with held in hand chances

I just rediscovered this while investigating Balatro's code. Basically, the way retrigger logic works is that a retrigger will only happen if the first trigger actually does something. This is almost never a problem, except for reserved parking, because if it whiffs then the face card in hand doesn't do anything and doesn't get retriggered; meaning the face card won't get a second chance to give your money. Hilariously, this means that if you make a face card a steel card, then the retrigger is guaranteed to happen and you'll always get both rolls of the dice.

Its weird that debuffed cards have the retriggers happen with baron/mime though

yup, both things were discovered, I also made a lil mod to fix mime, you just need to return empty table on whiff instead of nothing

~~tho I never posted it anywhere as I expect some sort of update announcement by 25th of January (for no reason at all ), and if not then I'll release a lil bugfixes mod~~
