I'm not fond of the sinful jokers nerf. I understand flushes are too powerful, but now we have 4 common jokers that each incentivize a very specific build while falling off even harder (without scored card retriggers). They typically max out at +15 mult, no better than an abstract joker, so I feel they kinda pollute the pool. So my thinking is maybe they should be made chip-based instead (with a pretty strong bonus), or replace all 4 jokers with one, similar flush (but not only flush) pandering card like "+15 mult if all scored cards share a suit"
The distinction from Abstract is that the mult applies while playing for the purposes of on-play multipliers, steel cards, etc. But I'm also not sure it was warranted just yet
Playing gold stake runs, it almost feels impossible to take rental jokers early game since you need money to find the jokers that will keep you alive and they feel way too common. What are the rental rates? Like 50%? Thatās what it feels like anyway. too high imo

So far perishable and rental are making the earlier stakes antes*, which I think is the hardest part of gold stakes.
I think perishable jokers need to be discounted like $1-2.

Just won my first gold stake on the new beta. Thoughts I have:
- The rental joker is much more forgiving than -1 hand size. If you get good economy it becomes manageable and overcomes some of the bad rng that hand size caused.
- Perishable feels a bit rough as it can just end a run if you canāt replace a joker. Maybe add a refresh mechanic where you can re-up the rounds and make it progressively more expensive to āfixā the joker.
- Making 4 of a kind jokers into 2 pair jokers is a fantastic change. Allowing 2 pair builds to breathe.
- Making tag jokers free is super nice as it prevents as much resetting after shop 1.

I think that is the correct interaction here. If it was rental then the round āendsā you pay rent, then get saved.
Played a few gold stake blue deck runs.
I feel like the stickers kinda make having a build way too hard. Early on most buildarounds you find are either perishable or rental, and later on finding a joker that synergises with your first one without it being persihable is way too hard.
If it's early in the run, finding a permanent or rental joker you'd temporarely want is too punishing, or finding an expiring or rental joker you want for the mid or the end of the run is unpractical.
I feel like too many of the jokers I find on the shop are not considerations because of the stickers, severely limiting the meaningful options I have and making it so crazy or novel runs are harder to get off the ground

Is anyone else experiencing an issue in windowed mode where you can't click off of the screen? I've never had this problem before the beta branch. The only way to do anything off the game screen is a full alt-tab. Makes it really annoying to change songs while listening to music and playing

Had a few gold stake runs, it's kinda whacky. I'll attribute that to variance but it felt like absolutely everything was perishable, I was always switching jokers and my wins were mostly the doing of planets.
I'm not sure yet how I feel about it, it's definitely interesting but the odds for each sticker may need qome tweaking

not only can they still be sold, but they don't lose any value either. I was curious if they were going to lose value when I read the mechanic, but you can safely let them expire. Well maybe not something like the egg. I suppose I need to test that. I'm not sure if the egg would lose all of its increased value when it debuffs or not. But I checked before and after and my jokers still sold the same in my runs last night.
it does, but that's fine. Eternal is a mechanic that is also sometimes a plus and sometimes a negative. It makes it interesting.

I need to experiment more. my first thoughts were it's a bit much, but at the same time, it keeps things interesting and makes it so I have to keep watching for various jokers for a while. Like ultimately it doesn't seem that bad to find jokers that allow you to continue on and it just takes even longer to find jokers you can and want to hold onto long term.

Mail-In Rebate is a little unbalanced at $5 I think. Especially compared to the ToDo List nerf.
Casually getting $15 from Mail-In Rebate pretty regularly is strong. And yet, players being able to get $15 out of ToDo List prompted a nerf.
Mail-In Rebate just passively spits out money because players press the discard button, but if players try to form different kinds of hands for ToDo List it's not quite as strong. To me, it seems that making different hands, a big part of the challenge and fun in the game, should be rewarded more than simply pressing the discard button.
tbf, joker stake would add so much more content
like imagine something as simple as all digits in jokers increase by 1 or decrease by 1 randomly
