why are all the joker tags free. this seems like an overcorrection
if it rolls u perishable obelisk in ante 6 or earlier you need to skip rounds to survive ante 8
and those skipped rounds r needed for scaling

I really hated the increasing pack costs before. I just didn't feel good. With the rebalance in earlier tiers, and the packs not going up it means that there is more time to fix your run and randomness on the higher tiers is a bit less of a factor. I actually want to play more of this instead of the original time I ran into gold stakes played like twice and was like... nah... I don't care about the achievement lol.
the game needs balance. If everything is good, then there isn't a balance.
at least 4 card removes, and worst case you find a bad spectral card so you hold onto it and block it from showing up in packs
It's how power creep occurs. You buff everything too much and the "decent" bar gets too high.

I'm torn on it. My initial feeling is that it feels a bit too common but I also feel like it means that there is a lot more having to carefully choose and change your jokers throughout your run potentially.
So while it does feel like a lot, it does make the gold stakes feel quite a bit different and quite interesting.
I'll play more over the coming weeks though. Unlike the old gold stakes I'm having fun with the new one.

played on gold blind, found it easier. mostly because in the comparison of the two, gold blind on 1.0 kind of feels like going against blinds that are spongy with so few resources. do think that boosters cost 1$ more per round could stay around as a challenge of some kind. overall the new stickers feel good, makes for some interesting decisions and forces more gros michael like scenarios
when gros michel goes extinct you don't get the sell money back
but you do lose the +15 meaning you cant bet on it in the long run, forces a pivot. its interesting
rental jokers start out cheap, but get costly the more rounds you use it in
they can easily get countered by gold cards, gold seal, cash-generating jokers, etc.
but it changes the algebra for the cards you play with, makes you think about the game in a different way. such as what if you get a bull with rental? is it worth it to take if you dont have something like square since it eats into itself? which is better then, you have 7 cards to make a hand
it does open up a lot more possibilities
at least perishable just disables a joker after 5 rounds
you certainly don't want them to suddenly go poof like gros michel
invis is now much easier to use, I'm glad also
I gotta say the main menu with reduced motion is a bit dull
why not have a static blue-red vortex instead, just for main menu tho
Thanks for the update! A note: the game looks kind of blurry on smaller displays/windows now, I imagine it's because of the highdpi flag now only being set for OS X systems? Setting it to true makes it readable again. Thought I'd share. Unsure if it should be a bug, or if it's intended.

Banner nerf is not balanced with Blue Joker. Blue Joker usually gives around 100 chips for doing nothing. New Banner sometimes gives a little more than 100 chips if the stars align and you alter your playstyle significantly.

I was putting a lot of weight on "around 100". I think it's arguable that Blue Joker and Banner are close to the same power now, but Banner requires changing your gameplay significantly while Blue Joker requires nothing.

If I discard 20 cards with Blue Joker, I will have 20 less chips. If I discard 20 cards with Banner, I will have 120 less chips. I think this aligns with what I was arguing. Blue Joker is more powerful and stays more powerful regardless of how you play.

The thing about Vampire is that lategame you want, by and large, more times mult rather than bigger times mult. Vampire isn't going to 4/5x anymore but just being a 2x/2.5x is already good enough to be worth a slot in most cases

Baseball got some pretty notable hits here, with Vampire, Burned and Vagabond all going from Uncommon to Rare that means there's less superb jokers to combo with it
Burned losing its ability to pivot into a 1.5x with Baseball lategame is unbelievably huge for it and means you wanna drop it earlier

perishables are not guaranteed death, you have the option to mega skip lots of blinds if you want to

I think we got tons of player buffs with the tag changes, and several jonkler changes. I am jusy sayin I donât know if I necessarily like the way to nerf players, is to potentially give more frustrating scenarios to deal with instead of scenarios requiring more thought or effort

Had a lot of fun with the new update! Here's a few of my feedback. (played on gold stake)
- Change in ante scaling is much more forgiving, some times can feel a bit too easy but I don't mind it.
- Packs not costing 15gold anymore is a lot of fun, and makes sense that packs cost less because of the new rental mechanic
- New Perishable mechanic is sorta fun. Makes me rotate more jokers which is challenging. Annoying when perishable jokers like Invisible Joker
- New Rental mechanic is not super challenging, more of a minor annoyance in the early game.
- Gold stake feels a lot easier with the normal hand size and pack costs. Won 2/3 times
- Investment tag giving $25 seems too strong but makes sense because of Rentals
- Campfire getting X0.25 felt weak, but maybe deserved as it carried a few of my prior games
- Free rares and negatives are really fun!
- Idk if its the new update or not but I had a few
drop in FPS a number of times - Haven't had to opportunity to try blue seal but sounds pretty good and interesting
- Yorick seems much more viable
- Madness (one of my favs too) getting nerfed hurts my heart. IMO didn't feel deserved
- Hanging chad is AMAZING
- Buffs to lucky cat and lucky cards are also one of my favs
- LOVE the new changes to 8 ball. It could be the new vagabond!
