#Played hand of 5 for a "Flush" but it scored as "Four of a Kind"

I played a hand of 5 (4 Spades +1 Wild) in order to score a Flush, since Flush is my best leveled hand.
But it chose to do "four of kind".
Even though I played 5 cards, it gave me less score. Almost losing the game.

If I wanted it to score of a Four a Kind I would have only played the 4 cards.

Exact hand was

  • 3x 10 Spade
  • 1x 10 Wild
  • 1x 8 Spade

the game does intentionally prioritize the higher base value hand, but I am unsure if it's unintentional to choose the lower scoring hand, despite it being a higher base value

  • or it should prioritize my highest level type

so what would it play as when you have 4 fingers and play a 4 of a kind flush

I agree though. If it could score for multiple hand types I should be able to choose which one I want it to score as

it sounds like the dev likes the challenge of having to dodge higher poker hands as an extra mechanic

they don't want to have a selection menu for every poker hand that isn't high card

Also, you can just get a high level high card and just always choose High Card

IMHO it shouldn't be changed at all. The UI already tells you what's the hand when you select the cards and base score. Its up to you to choose your cards and work around your own levels.
