Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like I should be able to play the pictured hand as a flush (the 3 wild aces treated as spades), but the game insists on registering it as a 4 of a kind. Flush would give me 65x8 base chips and +4 mult from the 10, but 4 of a kind only gives me 60x7 base chips. There should be a way to choose how a wild card is used if multiple options are available, or at least the highest scoring option should be chosen.

it's a four of a kind cuz of the four aces
not a bug
and hands are scored based on how high they are on the list
not their base score
It can be both 4 of a kind and a flush
ah, that part isn't made clear in the game
it contains a flush but it is a four of a kind
and also allowing you to choose what hand you score with that hand removes strategy, as i can level up something like high card to level 20 and choose high card every time, breaking balance
(also mark this post as not a bug, can be changed by editing this post 🙂 )
That would be a valid strategy. It's not exactly easy to pull off, since planet cards are random. And it's not like there aren't other ways to break the balance.
i mean leveling up high card to level 20 is a strategy, but allowing you to choose whatever hand you want for scoring is the part that breaks the balance
a more realistic example is if you had let's say level 5 straights and you are dealt a lvl 1 straight flush
choosing hand type will circumvent this strategy therefore making the game less balanced
~~ 60 x 7 is better than 65 x 5~~
wait im blind lmao mb
Anyway, if this is a deliberate design choice, it should be made clear in the UI. Maybe an admin can move this thread to the suggestions channel. Not sure if discord allows that.
nope, discord doesn't allow that
also an idea like this has been brought up before in the #1155557846805643434 channel
you can take a look at the posts there, i commented on some of them with reasons why i dont favour this idea
additionally you can also see some perspectives of other people as well
What about those combo hands, such as "Flush Full House", that aren't on the list? Should they be optional? You can't even level them up, can you?
it’s called Flush House and no you indeed can level them up…
Alright, I'll keep an eye open for those. Almost had a Flush House catch me off guard yesterday.
as per the dev #🎙・server-chat message
I think dodging higher hands is kind of part of the game in other places as well
after using them you can find ways to level them
