A joker from last demo and was just swapped into next demo:

Superposition

If scoring hand contains an Ace and a Straight, spawn a Tarot or Planet card

Feel free to discuss balance, strategy, design, fun, art, etc. and its involvement in the new demo!

As always, suggest topics for future discussions and tell me if this timing doesn't work for you.

design - A+, effect on paper - C+/B-, effect in game - C-

#

underrated design imo

fast horizon
#

Shortcut is going to make this much ebtter though

cloud lynx
#

on its own it's a... joker

fast horizon
#

though with vagabond in the game, this is far less appealing

cloud lynx
#

Can we make a rank thing with jokers

#

I like that

deep rune
#

needs at least 1 straight utility to be worth it for me, but when comparing it to jokers like seance it just isnt good enough. this basicly has the same difficulty, since most people buff a certain part of the deck and choose high or low straight.

and localthunk confirmed we'll do another one for the next demo sometime after it releases

cloud lynx
#

I meant grading thing but thanks lol

cedar ether
#

ah your extended grading

#

i see

cloud lynx
#

can we agree that design is pretty good tho

agile ermine
#

imo superposition has multiple issues that are now especially apparently with both seance & vagabond existing

cedar ether
#

yeah the theming is great

#

as in other options far outclass it?

agile ermine
#

One being that it doesnt choose a lane and stick to it, so unlike seance for spectrals & vagabond for tarot, you cant use superpos to lean into any of the consumable categories

fast horizon
#

Superposition thematically is existing as A or B state, so it should make a random tarot and a random planet perhaps?

cloud lynx
#

Superpos with maximum potential(gets every util joker buff known to man) is sadly at most a B

the second issue is that its condition is too difficult to fulfil for the reward. Vagabond gives you a constant stream of tarots with an easy to fulfil condition (though ofc it does set you back economically), and seance has a difficult condition but gives a MUCH greater reward

#

giving both a random tarot and random planet would at least put it inline for how difficult the condition is

#

something like shortcut def makes superpos easier to proc but it requires another joker slot

cloud lynx
#

I think to put this into perspective: Imagine only getting tarots through Superposition

ember linden
#

Luke has said pretty much everything I would have about superpos lol

agile ermine
#

ive had time to think about it lol

cloud lynx
cedar ether
#

honestly imo getting both a tarot and a planet wouldn't be that great anyway. you only want planets of the hands you're playing, AND you need 2 slots open at all times to get full value

ember linden
#

You’d at least get some extra cash

cedar ether
#

meh

ember linden
#

Yeah I do see your point

agile ermine
#

Yeah I dont think itd be that good if it gave both but itd be a start

#

because right now the juice is not worth the squeeze

cloud lynx
#

Vagabond is like giving food to the poor. Who the hell does Superposition give food to?

cedar ether
#

lol

cloud lynx
#

or more accurately it's too slow to fulfill the rich's needs

formal solstice
#

superpos slaps. i love it, that is all lol.

cloud lynx
#

you might not wanna read the past couple of messages then

formal solstice
#

I did thats why i just said that lolol

cloud lynx
#

If I needed to sum up why Superpos is low tier, this is what i'd say

#

"Superpos gives to the wrong people"

#

might need to make that better

tender drift
#

personally, Spos has always messed with me
