I wish there was more music in the full game and thought of some possibility's:
-The shop
-Boss blinds
-After Beating the last ante

There are also some other minor ways to increase diversity without needing a completely different soundtrack:
Slightly ramp up music or add some instruments when playing on higher stake or when having reached higher antes.

This was used in another game some of you might know as Wii tanks.
In Wii tanks depending on the remaining tanks you had different instruments playing

Wii Play (2006) had a great assortment of little games, each with a little gem of adaptive music, but none got as intricate as the f...

I suggested pitching up the music like lap 3 in Mario Kart

I know Thunk already has a guy who has already done a great job and would probably come back and do more, but
if you wanted to have more different music for more different situations, I know a guy

#

Personally, I can go either way
with either the music ramping up intensity to match the gameplay
or when there's a huge mismatch, namely chill music over very intense thinky gameplay

Its hard to simply increase speed/increase bass and make it more tense, because its a poker roguelike and you aren't fighting the clock. It would just not match, but I think there are definitly ways to improve the current soundtrack.

#

having music not match the gameplay is the main thing to avoid i think

The repetitiveness of the music works imo, because it feels like a casino where you get immersed and lose track of time

Suggestion: DLC for alternate tracks

#

The soundtrack is brilliant. Can't believe it's the same thing on loop. It really adds to the feel of the game. Still, it would be nice after hundreds of hours to have an option or two

#

I'd gladly support the devs for reasonably priced DLC for added tracks that are on par with the release soundtrack

Do it Dr Mario style. Have several tracks made, and give players an option for what track to listen to while playing

#

I love the music too, but I would love it even more if there was another more upbeat track. Lofi is cool, but imagine like, big band jazz or some swing

#

Then again, the music is dynamic. It does change slightly depending on whether you're in the shop, playing a blind, selecting a blind, or opening a booster. I don't know how hard it would be to implement that for any new songs, since they too would have to be like that.

#

Plus, the booster pack music is all the same across all boosters except planets. Celestial packs have their own music, and tbh that one is my favorite of all the variations. I like space

Yeah Dr. Mario style, exactly

#

I don't know about big band. The lo fi chill is part of what makes it easy to play for long stretches w/o getting tired of the music. It's non-intrusive

So I'm pretty certain that the musician he's working with sent maybe 6 or 7 different versions of the same track. Sound alterations aren't done on the fly, it's probably a quick crossfade between those several tracks playing simultaneously. That'll make extra music tough, but a Tetris schema of selecting Music A, Music B, or Music C in the long run would be excellent.

I wouldn't want the game to lose its aesthetic character along the way, you've gotta have LouisF do the other tracks, and 2*6 instances would be about 12 tracks total. More work than just making two in most other games. That'd be worth it, though! I'm a Music B guy in GB Tetris. Hoping Thunk got the gigantic pile of cash he deserves for the game and he can then share a bit more of that out with the composer on new tunes.
