#Poker hands points and mult "priority" could adjust based on their level

Whenever you play a 5 card hand that contains multiple poker hands, the hand with the biggest points output should be selected.
With leveling system, poker hands "priority" can be a bit frustrating at times. If your main playing hand is flush (that outputs 295x30) and you somehow get a straight flush (100x8), it will be simply a downgrade, even though it really shouldn't.

The played hand should still be considered as the "highest" poker hand (for secret hands and hands played statistic), but the points should be selected by the highest "raw" output.

And to be clear, this should only work for 5 card hands, so Straight Flush, ||Flush house||, ||maybe 5 oak flush too? not sure||. Full house shouldn't be considered as "pair or 3oak".

Disagree, I believed that the current scoring system is better.

  • Flush is too strong
  • Straight Flush is too weak
  • The mechanic is unintuitive
  • Stronger build deserve some drawback
  • Workaround are sometime fun
I know that it feels bad to get a lower score for playing a rarer hand. But that would just makes the current Flush meta even more broken. And I dont see a reason beside "It feels bad to not score the highest score".

No one would ever run a Straight Flush specific build if this were a thing. Since there would be no real downside for not upgrading Striaght Flush for a Flush build. That is bad in term of both gameplay and balance.

I know it's kinda unintuitive, and I mostly wanted to know what other people think about this. Didn't expect this to have that much support and I am happy to discuss a better solution.

I don't believe nobody would run straight flush build because of this specifically. Flushes give you +2 mult per level, straights give you +3 mult per level, and straight flushes give you +4 mult per level.
You're saying flushes are too strong, but it's only a thing because you don't need a lot to get flushes going. For straight flushes, you need 4 fingers and smeared to get them consistently (or A LOT of tarot manipulations). It's a rare combo to find, and it's exactly the reason why it isn't "the meta" for simply winning consistently. And btw, most of the time, you would still upgrade straight flush it was offered but flush wasn't, but once you get telescope it becomes frustrating

This game is about getting the biggest score. The reason why poker hands are ordered in that way, is because they give "biggest score" the higher up they are. Once you add "hand progression", this order becomes meaningless

maybie a deck that dose it?

heh, wym?

like how gold deck gives +10 coins, and red gives +1 discard, what if a deck was "best scoring hand plays regardless"

upbeat tulip

Oh like that, interesting idea

#

like a deck you sacrifice all bonus's to get chance to REALY score high

upbeat tulip
#

Well honestly

#

I think a chance of this happening is like really low

#

getting straight flush instead of straight/flush

#

so I'm not sure anyone would really find a separate deck for this that useful

you would be surpised how offen i get 4oak or 5oak in a 3 oak deck

I mean getting biggest score within the blind you are fighting

#

I don't mean getting over the boss requirement

#

it's also funny how you would not only have a straight flush, but a strenght card hanging around

#

chances of that aren't exactly high
