just compare this to Constellation, with constellation, you can grow it once or twice per shop, and sometimes a 3rd or 4th time depending on which tarot jokers you have, with this, you can upgrade it each turn 4 times, and 7 with burglar (10 with blueprint burglar)

high card by itself with no supporting jokers is abysmal which is to be expected, it's quite literally the worst hand in both balatro and poker in general

splash is also a great joker to pair with high card as it massively increases the potential for both chips and mult increases (through other jokers or enhanced cards)
