#Juggler vs 8 Ball
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Litterally just had this happen in my run
and picked juggler
though yellow deck I get both but if I had to pick juggler
I feel like I lean 8 ball
Juggler definitely more consistent throughout all runs, but because this is specifically first shop it has so much potential to just define your run for you
Im an anti 8 baller
I'd go juggler over 8 ball just because it's generically good vs 8 ball needing you to force more 8s and I don't necessarily want to do that every run
I like both a lot tho
What does juggler do?
+2 hand size
8 ball first shop requiring you to go all in on 8s immediately VS Juggler just being good
Y'all don't understand 🤑 .
Juggler is just universally good
I wish Blueprint worked with Juggler
ikr
enable truly degenerate levels of card draw
is why I wouldn't want that
Juggler is probably the better choice but 8 ball runs are really fun and pop off like crazy if you get it early so I'd pick that I think
Then juggler for sure, that guy has carried my shitty hands to getting 50k chips
Yeah juggler is indeed good in any situation and makes playing any hand type easier
But man 8 ball is like. Fun and charming to me I take it every time
Juggler is the safe bet, 8 Ball can either do nothing or instantly win you the run
And in a roguelike inspired by gambling, why would I play it safe if I could win it all?
juggler's too good yea
also a must have when you have 5oak builds through spectral packs and whatsnot
cause if you get "turn all cards into one rank", that -1 hand size huuurts a lot of the time
Juggler's also got a really funny gimmick vs verdant leaf which is like
if you like all your other jokers, you can discard cards until you get the ones you want
and then you sell juggler
In a vacuum I’d go for juggler more often than 8ball, but overall 8ball is more fun
People really taking juggler over an economy card in the first shop? You can sell the tarot cards from 8 ball if you don’t want them.
Juggler is a good card but I probably wouldn’t take it unless I had a build that was difficult/unreliable to draw.
i’m rolling for a score joker
8 ball cause I want that scaling potential poggies, also it's a cool buildaround
8 ball early because there’s a possibility of getting a ridiculous run off the ground. This is definitely a tougher question than the last one though cause juggler is just so good.
this guy has got to be a fed
🚨
cant post images D:
this is something that tends to be the superior options in roguelike: consistency
once you have some form of consistency, then you can start to afford to balling, in this case getting Juggler over 8 Ball (but I’ll get both if I have the chance)
🖼️
Juggler is going to help me win,
but 8 ball is funny :^)
It’s crazy to me that juggler is a common joker
Insanely powerful effect
Honestly I’m thankful it’s common but still
given how crippling -1 hand size feels I'm definitely underrating juggler
If this were Juggler vs Cartographer, I think it would be a much much more difficult decision
Wait what? It would be easier because you'd take juggler every time
you would
Cartographer is my favorite joker though, but juggler is probably always the better pick (i would still pick cartographer though)
A free Arcana every round scales like crazy, can solve the first few rounds by enabling high-scoring hands even without Jokers, and has insane late-game potential, especially if grabbed early
Juggler is
Well
You know
💯🔥
and emporor or fool change that randomness
Early in a game, though, you can use the randomness to determine which direction your build will go in. There aren't many outcomes that you can't take advantage of.
I'm not saying Cartographer is the clear pick, I'm saying that they're both excellent cards and it would be hard for me to decide
same
Oh yeah, you're not the person I'm arguing with 😋
ontier list they are both high up there and are right next to eachother
I just got home so decided to join
yeah i'd probably go cartomancer over juggler if i was forced to choose
i think both provide enough consistency over time, and cartomancer has a much higher ceiling
imo juggler is in the same tier just because it's common, but it's not as strong
Ngl unpopular opinion juggler just isn't that good
Like it's fine but I find myself passing on it alot. It's basically the same as draw two additional cards once with minor upsides if ur chasing flushes or straights
And since 4/5 of a kind is just better and easier to get/scale idk why you'd go flushes
I'd take it if I already had a flush joker but not as a first pick it's 8 ball everytime
IMO Juggler helps a build that relies on specific cards not to brick
But since it doesn't contribute to multipliers or chips, it can't save a build that doesn't have enough go juice in the first place
I think it's hard to accurately evaluate the strenagth of juggler
I feel like with some builds (commonly straights, please buff straights im on my knees begging) you need to hold a bunch of cards to maximise chances of getting the straight which means you can't look that deep into the deck
but the 'meta' builds revolve around more consistent hands that won't need juggler to begin with
wow I just saw this and it's very clearly 8 ball to me, juggler is great but replaceable, 8 ball is really great and not replaceable, and it's the first shop so you have time to get a mult later
i get not wanting to restrict your run to a certain type of thing though, and 8 ball will do that
I tend to think juggler is significantly better in terms of win rate (at least for the easy-difficulty Demo). I tend to find that runs die because you weren't able to draw your good hand much more often than they die because you couldn't find enough scaling.
Juggler makes your draws much more consistent, not only because of the +2 cards, but because it allows you to always discard 5 cards while cycling through your deck looking for your winning hand.
