For gameplay purpouses the Ice Cream is one of the best jokers in the game, I love it. Super fun joker.

Emotionally, the banana has brought me to the carnival, sent me on the rollercoaster alone and when I got off the ride he was nowhere to be seen. Michael please, stop playing games with my heart.

On a more serious game design point of view, it's the banana for sure. First of all it's the only one with a name - it has a personality, it's a person, not just an object.

Furthermore, it has an inherent tension - will it leave and fuck you over or will he stay? This dynamic doesn't exist with the other two, where you know when they're going to be leaving. There's no tension, no "GROSS MICHAEL YOU SPOILED FRUIT I JUST BOUGHT YOU!!" moments or similar

The egg often just feels like a means to an end imo

Special edition egg is so good every time it shows up. Because you don't want to replace it as much, it sticks around longer and you end with it boosting Temperance to insane values

And then after Plant you sell it to fish for a better joker and end up with $200 or something ridiculous

Egg is kinda interesting to me, though. It gives 1 less money per round than Golden Joker, while you also have to get rid of it to reap the money, making it stricly worse in many situations. Is this intended to balance around things like Temperence/Ceremonial Dagger synergies that Golden Joker doesn't get, or is it just an artifact of some cycle of buffs/nerfs?

i went with gross michael, but my vote could be easily swayed if a certain joker was renamed to, "Greg the Egg"

I would say banana, because if it disappears, it isn’t your fault, in is the game’s fault.
You can always sell the egg (you have to deliberately buy it to eventually sell it)
And ice cream only last 20 turns. (if you’re picking it up, you know it’s gonna have to go away at some point.)
I don’t know it’s just something about a random chance of losing the banana,that you can’t ever control. And in theory that the banana can stay with you until the end if you lucky. But at the end of the day, a 1 in 10 is 10% and not 0.

I feel like gros michel is almost coded to reappear in the shop after you lose it, it seems like too good of a coincidence to lose a foil gros michel at the end of the round and then get and foil gros Michel in the shop directly after
