Am using balatro mod manager and it still isnt stopped crashing after i replaced talisman with amulet
Deck creator doesn't work anymore
point them to a message instead of the whole faq
if anyone is having the same issue i just uninstalled and reinstalled cryptid and it fixed
delete the items/.lovelyignore file

definitely the second thing at the very least, amulet is literally just better talisman and fixes a lot of the crashes

just for science, disable all of them except the debugplus series and spectrum framework, and see if the same thing happens

I don't think Steam lets you, but it should work just fine if you bypass steam by running the executable directly
so i can just open the .exe on for example the laptop, and it will run even tho i have mods installed on the pc.

it doesn't sync your mods
it does sync your save data and mod config, but that's it
running through steam vs. the exe should only matter if you're trying to run both at the same time, which I seem to have misunderstood you wanting to do?

you probably shouldn't use the same profile across modded and vanilla, but yes it will sync
ah, so i just gotta use 2 different profiles to avoid issues?
smods currently still has a bug where it will desync progress made in vanilla after the profile has been used with smods at all (I have a fix for this currently in testing)
either way it's better to use different profiles

friend gave me his (vanilla) save.jkr file to try piloting on Endless, and I pasted it into my profile folder. is there any reason why the save just does not appear at all in-game?
if it were a Steamodded incompatitibility I would've at least expected that alert to pop up
if you check the folder, the file is gone, right?
that's just steam cloud doing its job, i.e. syncing your save data
you need to paste the file while the game is running

your friend uses talisman, which makes run incompatible with vanilla

it's also from an old smods version, so I think they just sent the wrong file

i have this really weird glitch where lovely tries to run balatro and is stuck in a loop of applying some patch, launching balatro, and then balatro closes for some reason and it repeats
is there any fix

you have a lot of mods tho so i would recommend moving them all out and just having steamodded and then adding them back one by one until you see if one of them is causing the problem

it crashed because you are playing on Mobile
because this steamodded version has a bug which causes a crash with a ton of custom messages under jokers both in cryptid and other mods
so like the ^pi Chips&Mult message for example crashes because steamodded makes it not be in the correct format on this version specifically

if you want similar functionality, use Handy
i only really downloaded saturn for the more game speeds

you would make a pretty basic mod with the music files located in the mod's assets/sounds directory, and a bare minimum metadata json file in its root folder to load the mod, something like this structure:

make sure cryptid is not nested (a single folder inside of the cryptid folder with the mod files in that)
just move said folder out into the mods folder and it should work

That's not the trouble. I temporarily disabled my mod manually -- even to the point of moving it out of the Mods folder -- and nothing changed.
And how would I redownload Lovely?
I even redownloaded Balatro from Steam.

I managed to redownload it from Steam and got it working, but with no mods. How do I locate the folder where Balatro.exe lives? All the shortcut points to is steam://rungameid/2379780.
in the steam library, right click -> manage -> browse local files
I've managed to move them into their own local folder, but it still tries to contact Steam whenever I open it up. How can I prevent this?

steamodded has patches that achieve this
you can either run it or, should you not want that, extract said patches into a separate lovely mod
this happens whenever i import spectralib, no matter what mod that uses it, or what version of spectralib
Now, the game opens without connecting to Steam, but all mod information is gone -- even after redownloading Lovely and putting version.dll in the game directory. What now?

Hi, I had the talisman issue of hand levels showing as 0 and leveling up hands crashing, so i switched talisman out for amulet. However, it's saying it can't find multiplayer service now (multiplayer mod)
have you already asked in the mp server

why does it say missing? i have the latest release from github in my mod folder and the other mods work so it's not in the wrong directory either
it's asking for a version of steamodded that doesn't exist. a lot of mods falsely do this because it used to work due to a mistake in the versioning system
you can just remove the dependency from the affected mod's metadata json file
use IMM
update smods holy crap
also replace talisman with amulet

edit your mod's metadata file and replace it with the latest version of smods

and tell the mod dev to fix the dependency because >=1.* only worked because of a bug

i ROYALLY fucked up my balatro install because i was messing around with files and i think the easiest way to fix it would just be to start from scratch. is there a way to just tell my PC to forget i ever had balatro installed. because i try to uninstall and reinstall and the error persists
