I have currently a run that scores naninf on my main profile, but without finishing that run i put smodded into my mod folder and, without loading the run, opened balatro and immediately switched profiles to play BMP. Now i don't have any mods again and, when i logged onto the naninf run again, whenever i play a card it gives me this error. Also, when i look at my stats now instead of seeing "naninf" as highest score i see "0". What could have caused this and how could i fix it? I'm guessing that the problem is the fact that the highest score for the run didnt load because i guess steammodded messed with it? Is there any way to reset the highest score of the run to save the run or are both the run and my highest score in the profile done for? appreciate any help!
after you score naneinf in a vanilla run, all future hands will crash the game

I don't think that is correct, since after scoring naninf i was able to play 19 more hands to setup that final hand for a second naninf that you can see there. I decided to pause the run there to show a friend how a naninf hand plays out, but before they logged on i went off to play a little bit of balatro multiplayer, switching profiles in the process. My guess is that i should've switched profiles before putting mods in, instead of after (even though i didn't even load the run while having mods), but i don't know is there is a way now to recover both the run and my highscore in the save file

which is also why the profile high score normally resets

you mean click once and drag the mouse over cards to select them all at once? you'll want the Handy mod

Hey, I ended up getting a crash on steammoded and I tried to fix it by updating it like someone told me, and when I did and tried to continue my run, for some reason all of my cards had a weird effect on them, they all had extra info that said "2x score" and "2x blind score" for some reason. if anyone has any idea what happened please lmk
Did you not have the big warning header in the continue run screen? Something like "Your Steamodded version has changed since this run was started! Continuing it may lead to unexpected behaviour and game crashes"?
I did, that run ended, I wasn't that dissapointed, but i'm curious as to why that happened specifically, it seems like a weird bug to appear.
in an smods update, there was a tweak made to how the xscore and xblind requirement permabonuses worked
before the update, it took the bonus exactly as is, whereas after the update, it now adds 1 to the bonus before applying it. the after-the-update behavior is consistent with other smods permabonuses
so previously, all cards had "x1 score" and "x1 blind requirement" represented as 1s in the code, and then after the update, those 1s were taken to mean 1+1 = x2 score and x2 blind requirement
tldr it was directly caused by the smods update and the fact that you continued the run despite the warning

it's for features that a lot of mods would commonly use, like the upgrade_poker_hands function allowing for a lot more control than just leveling up hands or the whole attribute system to essentially add categories/tags to jokers

Here's what I wrote about it last time someone asked
Smods/Steamodded is intended to function exactly the same as the vanilla game, with no difference in any of the game mechanics. In practice, this is unfeasible due to the amount of changes steamodded makes to the internals of the game to allow modders to create whatever they want (1000+ lines of code are changed). This is why you could say "it might as well be a different game".
For players, this means the game's mechanics will generally work the same way as vanilla, or very close to it. Sometimes niche interactions or bugs slip through on steamodded's side, and need to be fixed. It is not something you generally need to worry about, but it is something you should be aware of when modding.

you can just boot balatro
the first thing BMM does is install lovely injector for you, which should automatically apply mods whenever the game boots

remove talisman from the dependencies in the undertale/deltarune json file
and delete talisman
undertale/deltarune mod is set to require talisman despite being incompatible with it
and also using not one talisman feature
alternatively you can use https://github.com/frostice482/amulet amulet
which does not crash from incompatibility
and it functions as a full replacement for talisman, including mods that require it

this is a fantastic resource. the wiki (which i link directly to) answers a lot of common/basic questions about balatro mod code, and the repository itself contains recreations of basically everything from vanilla balatro as if they were modded objects, so you can reference how vanilla jokers would work for your own purposes
in particular, the wiki has a section about checking a playing card's rank, and Hack is probably a good reference for what you're trying to do

the way you have it set up isn't checking properly
if x == y or z or w or h evaluates to if (x == y) or z or w or h, so if x == y is true, or z itself is true, or w itself is true, or h itself is true, then the whole thing is true
anything that isn't false or nil is true in lua, so 11, 12, and 13 are all true and just catching every rank that isn't 2-9
anyway you shouldn't be doing this. context.other_card.base.nominal will directly get the chip value that the rank is worth
(make sure to check it isn't rankless first though)

i'll just start a new run for now and hope i can actually get to the cooler fusions

without looking closer, it's likely that mayhem is at fault. may just be a bug

multiplayer changes how seeds generate so you cant really play single player seeds in multi

alright idk what that issue is in particular but i highly recommend just installing amulet instead
if you still get this sort of crash, make sure your mods aren't nested (i.e. you have Mods/Cryptid/all the mod files, not Mods/Cryptid/Cryptid/all the mod files)
Amulet changes how the game calculates scores iirc, cryptid is the one adding all the content
amulet is a replacement for talisman, not for cryptid

open your mods folder
go into the amulet folder
and if you just have one single folder inside and no other files, then it's nested

Nesting is just when the folder containing all the mod stuff is housed inside another folder, just take it out of that folder and you'll be fine

BMM put a .lovelyignore file somewhere it shouldn't be, which is confusing pokermon
reinstalling pokermon should fix it but you should consider not using BMM

Hot Potato was not designed with cross-content mod compatibility in mind. It is recommended to not play Hot Potato with other mods installed. If you forego this warning, expect things to break!!

only Sagatro jokers can appear; the buffoon pack in first shop is free and its contents allow you to start a storyline and shrink the joker pool further; perform several tasks to win since win ante is meaningless
it only affects joker pool so consumables from other mods can get in without a problem
hence why story mode is best served standalone

I didn't touch this feature myself but I assume that all cards are supposed to have this set to 1 but these got 2 for some reason
specifically when you update from 1531zeebee to 1606b, that happens
it's because the default for xscore and xblindsize permabonuses was 1 in 1531, but it was updated to 0 in 1606. all the other multiplicative permabonuses are offset by 1 so that the default is 0, but xscore and xblindsize weren't when they were first implemented
and all the permabonuses are assigned on card creation, so all your cards had 1 stored as the xscore and xblindsize permabonuses, which is treated as X2 in latest smods

yes, deck creator is unmaintained and doesn't work anymore on current versions of smods. you won't be able to use it alongside the rest of your mods, as the versions of smods that work with it are too old for e.g. cryptid

I dont know if this is the right channel but I wanted to try modding and it worked perfectly but when i launched the game i realized i lost my green stake difficulty on my red deck which is weird cause there are some stuff that i discovered AFTER unlocking green stake that are still there. I tried deleteting all of my modding things but its still not there. i dont mind reunlocking it but i was just wondring if anyone knows why this happened

and the wiki will explain how to check a card's rank and if a card has a seal
theres a shine overlay somewhere in #1224362333208444989 that you can use to quickly create the full animation that a normal blind uses

blinds arent cards but this is the same for basically all objects

its meant to, if it straight crashes to desktop you can grab a log in lovely/log in your mods folder
