In BMM, you can probably look up the mod.
However, many people suggest learning how to download mods from GitHub
IMM in my opinion is a better alternative to BMM right now

yep! make sure the folder is not nested though (meaning a single folder is in that folder)
Yep. Now, make sure that folder has the files inside, not another CardSleeves folder.
Github is the most surefire way but it's hard to learn how to navigate it, hence why mod managers provide simplicity by allowing you to download just by clicking a button
Here's an example on what Nested Folders are:
When your unzipped zip has another folder that then has the contents in it
I believe AikoShen has a built-in warning when it's nested.

I've once played like, 500+ cards in cryptid, took almost 17gb ram
i don't know why overwhelming the game sometimes causes a proper crash with a stack overflow error and sometimes it just shuts down immediately

Is this the right channel to figure out why my modded balatro keeps crashing?

I started playing multiplayer balatro, and I cannot figure out what's going on. Anytime I hit either a boss or pvp blind, balatro just slows down to like 5 fps and crashes. My resolution is correct and vsync is on, I have the lowest settings possible. I've even given it high priority on my task manager for my ram and no luck. Any ideas on how to fix this? everyone I've played against says they have no issues and there's nothing that shows in the lovely logs either.

Hey all - whenever I open modded Balatro, a log panel opens up too (as a command prompt window). If I close it, the game closes too. It's not really useful for me, and I was wondering if there was a way to get rid of it. I checked all of the configs (I think) but didn't find anything, so some help would be greatly appreciated! I suspect your antivirus might be catching lovely and not trusting it (which makes sense, as balatro modding works on code injection, though if you downloaded lovely from the github link, it's totally safe)

No, for steamodded you need the source code. Lovely is the only part that's compiled

I put all the mod once ang the game started, but from the second time it didn't start anymore and gets blocked. Someone has some suggestion how to make the mod work?
Does it show any error screen when you try to boot it up? If so, a screenshot would help a lot.

It already is, because you didn't blockcontext.blueprint. You just need to give the joker definition the blueprint_compat = true, line, otherwise Blueprint/Brainstorm won't say they're compatible, despite working fine with it.
Yeah, just with any of the properties like discovered, unlocked, etc. Exact placement doesn't matter that much.
You should try Debug Plus, it lets you fetch jokers from your collection. Hold tab to unlock its menu and unlock 'cheats', then press 3 when hovering over Blueprint in your collection, while in game.

Are you trying to make a new function here named G.FUNCS.Materials()?
It should be formatted G.FUNCS.Materials = function() to be actually recgonized as a function declaration, instead of a function call.
<eof> means "end of file", as in it currently thinks there's no function being created, so it thinks the 'end' shouldn't e there.

It's hard to know the exact mod/file actually causing this error message, but it presumably means some mod you have is misusing a vanilla function.
In your mods folder, you can go to lovely/dump/functions/common_events.lua and search for line 574, to get an idea of what function the error is coming from.
Are any of the mods made by you? If not, it could be something that's out of date. A lot can go wrong if you stack together enough mods.

Yeah. If it's a function your mod doesn't use, it's best to disable different mods, usually one at a time, until you stop crashing. That'll let you know what is probably misbehaving.

Maybe in theory, but Cryptid is a really big mod and it does a lot of things with custom hands. It'd be hard to narrow down the potential causes.

My guess is that their OS, presumably an antivirus, is having an issue with Lovely
in that case the mods wouldn't show up at all

So yeah, I've tried a bunch of stuff and not been able to reproduce it or help them. It's even weirder because their log files show no inconsistencies with mine, and sometimes they'll load, and sometimes they won't
playing with cryptid whenever a hand scores, it gives the "attempt to compare number with table" crash. if i switch to amulet instead of talisman, selecting any card into hand gives the crash "engine/text.lua:310: bad argument #4 to 'draw' (number expected, got cdata)." i have just the 2 mods installed. does anyone know a fix?

the voucher was an ortalab voucher

Hi guys, just installed deckskins lite to try some new cosmetics but now it crashes
Any idea on how to fix that?
where did you download steammoded from?
what does your mods folder look like?
moremariojokers, vallkarri and cryptposting are all no longer being developed, so those might be causing issues
Cryptposting shouldnt cause any issues because most people use it along site crypted mod a lot on yt as of recently

I turned off Joker Display and I was able to get through the hand. Which is weird because this is the first time it's caused me any sort of issue
The crash message indicates its amulet causing this in combination with jokerdisplay
