Biggest thing is that your jokers do stand out a bit oddly if they're darker than vanilla. But I wouldn't worry too much about it, unless your goal is to fit with that vanilla style really well

I find coding relatively inpeneratrable. Balatro mods are created using Steamodded, which is basically a modified version of Balatro's source code that makes it easier to implement new content as well as adding some new features that allow for more customization. Because this works differently from the original source code, Vanilla Remade is a mod that recreates every vanilla feature using the Steamodded framework. It is called a reference because it allows you to look at vanilla jokers and see exactly how they function using Steamodded, which is very useful for seeing how a certain effect is implemented so you can implement your own similar effect
