for a long time, development has been kinda split between making actual fun content and making the big number get bigger, and the balance + quality has suffered because of it
it's a pretty archaic codebase that does a lot of things weirdly or manually, when SMODS has since integrated standard ways to do those things
it also currently requires Talisman, which is obnoxious for other mod developers to support and often causes crashes when installed alongside other mods (this will be changing when Talisman is thrown in the trash pit and everyone switches to Amulet)

Cryptid development has also long caused issues for other mods due to players always playing your mod with cryptid, for a while. And the Cryptid devs have not been active here in ages, so every time a broken release came out, crash logs and questions started popping up here that we'd need to figure out so they could be fixed. Though the cryptid resentment became fashion for a while too, so for some reason it's more so spite than anything else

Basically in the Balatrostuck mod there are several new types of collectibles.

One of them is like planet cards except not, called Zodiacs.

The other is one where you can only have one of the 13 at a time, called Aspects.

This Aspect, by default, makes Zodiac cards give 2 additional levels and has a 1 in 3 chance of resetting all the other Zodiac cards to 0.
