New rules look fine, rule 9 seems to be restrictive for no reason. afaik there is no rule across the entire server banning discord links, so I don't really understand why modding should have a rule specifically denying it.
With point 2, I do worry that splintering the current two channel set up into four is going to lead to people misunderstanding the purposes of each channel (the names could probably be improved to help this), but also that the regulars will frequent modding-off-topic and modding-dev (like currently) leading to these newly created channels to be not very active and stifle growth of the community. Of course, I could be wrong with this, but I'm not sure I could name someone who would want to add frequently checking on modding-support to how they already use the server, and I foresee people dumping their crashes in the middle of an active chat (like they do now) to get more eyes on the issue quicker.
Point 3 is an interesting one. I feel like the main reason people are unhappy with the moderation in these channels is simply the lack of mods who are actully in these channels. There's never been an issue with pinging mods and having to wait ages for a resolution, it's always virtually instantaneous. Having 1 or 2 mods dedicated to moderating modding channels will only work if they are active members of the community who can be seen to be present frequently - especially with the proposed new channel structure where things will need to be directed to the correct channel more frequently. The same applies to the proposed modding-resources forum (again I don't think this is named particularly well) - having this be free to post for anyone, and not frequently kept on top of by mods, will lead to it serving little use in my opinion.

It's been shown the modding-chat is barely even used for balatro modding, as it has been pointed out it acts as a genereal 2 with people who know each other and like sharing their off-topic stuff to others instead of making a group dm or something. Hopefully the modding-off-topic will help with this issue and the mods focused on moderating those channels will enforce what should be talked in where.
I only agree with modding-support part, someone will see lots of people posting their crash with no answers so they'll try in a more active modding chat.

Hi Egg! Just read through and I am quite a fan of these, as they address most, if not all, of the current issues I have with the current state of the channels here. One addition I feel that would be worthwhile is a rule or mention regarding AI use, as that has been a moderated thing in the past as explained by lolhappy [here](#⚙・modding-general message). I mainly see it for support reasons. There are entire staff teams in these external servers, i.e. Cryptid, Multiplayer, etc. who do not hang around here, but have the knowledge to give support. Being able to link people to these servers gives them the support they’re looking for.

Another somewhat niche thing that personally applies to me but I kinda understand why it would not get considered, being able to post server links helps me get the word out about community events I am hosting, this way I don’t have to direct prospective participants through a bunch of hoops just so they can join a discord server

Finally, discord invite embeds are very unique and are integrated into the platform, it would be very hard to mask a phishing link in one of those

I read the whole doc and I have some questions about it.

1. "Do not discuss porting Balatro to additional platforms." - So basically you don't want to port Balatro on any other platforms. but does this even include like other windows versions (ex. Windows 95 or Windows 98)? Does this rule apply to anyone to try to port balatro into like devices like how doom had it's runs on?

2. "Do not debug source code." - Don't know if anyone attempted at this. But I get it's becuase of "Piracy" reasons. Which that mkaes sense. Except, what if it's just changing the game or basically like how Sudolatro or the game where you basically have a plinko fruit thing. Cause I don't know if the debug is needed to test the code for the use of makign the mod. That's actually the question in mind that what if you debug it but only for checking to see if the code worked in order with the mod?

3. "If you include a mod or code from another member of this server you must be able to link to a post within the server where they agree to have their code included in your distribution." - It's good that the awareness that people can basically steal code. but honestly how does this apply? and this this affect on what credits? And is it basically like we have to like credit the people who did help with the code? Cause there's a lot of code roam in the server and if anyone used the code does that mean that it'd applied for permissions or credits when it's due?

4. "All mods must be must have source be available - this does not mean licensed under an OSS license but that the source must be available and viewable to other users." - This one I get it however one issue, what about the mods that never got a source equivalent like Undertale mod? Also what about the ones that doesn't have a github account?

As nice as this would be to have, I can imagine it’d be a bit of a drag for staff to decide who qualifies for that, who doesn’t, and dealing with the potential drama involved with a stupid discord role

I honestly think some channels being less active than others is fine if each channel allows newer users to achieve whatever functions they want

On one hand, I know that sort of 'semi-mod' roles can kinda breed resentment in users that start seeing them as badges of honour, but on the other hand, it'd be pretty handy to have some users that might not be able to ban, kick or mute people, but would be able to pin things in mod channels, etc.
