the happy path in strontium for complex cards is basically all in "thing" registration at startup. strontium then binds together the effects and whatnot and then that gets batched out to opengl

The system basically has a set swatch of colors that are valid for it to recolor per set (+ the backgrounds), and so as long as your cards are set up to use these colors, it'll be automatically recolored according to whatever your palette settings are. You can name and save presets to config and they'll persist between plays.
