I'm using it for Kino so I can make let you choose to play with only movie jokers, or only 150 movie jokers, or remove all vanilla enhancements and cards that interact with that, etc. It's to stop the only way to play Kino being to accept the bloat, haha. That way I can basically make a Playset of jokers that let you choose to focus on the spellcasting mechanic as a major mechanic, rather than one of 10 in a sea of 500 jokers. But I suspect that for modpacks, being able to provide different presets is also pretty helpful

i think a slight problem with preset stuff ontop of existing decks that cater to something (i.e checkered with bloodstone most likely) is restricting potential player customization in runs (which im heavily obsessed with) but theres always the option to never interact with it in the first place so I dont see any reason not to have something like that

I'm trying to find the balance between having a kitchen sink mechanical mod like Kino, that just adds 100 concepts, and also allowing you to have the game be more focused. At least focused on the level of Vanilla Balatro, I guess, haha

Someone got gold stake on every deck and joker in Kino a while back (which feels insane), and realizing that people care about gold staking mods has made me realize that it might also be good to add a way to prevent players from earning stickers in specific configurations. I could make it so presets can be set up to disallow earning stickers
it can be a sampler, a showcase, a specific experience. I mainly imagine that the benefit for a modpack is things like being able to include Cryptid but have your default Playset be one where you remove the m jokers, for example. It allows you to include a mod into your pack without having to accept all its content. Or at least, allows you to not have to ban it by hand, haha
