Probably bad choice of words. The base function overwrites it by the current amount, and with change you make it change the value by the amount, instead, which is why the parameter is called change. It's because for Kino, every single instance of value manipulation is an aura effect, rather than anything stackable (as repeated value manipulation is way, way easier to break)
