I'd check to see if the mayhem or smods folder are nested (so there's only a single folder in there, instead of multiple folders and files), and if not, I'd try with the previous smods release. This one is only a day old so it could be that there's an issue with mayhem due to it

Feel like all mods are really constrained by the fact that if they want to be balanced, the cards have to compete with the already really complete base game, and adding to this makes it almost impossible to add content while preserving the 8 antes difficulties
Almost all mods end up generally making the game easier

I recommend removing all your mods and adding them back 1 by 1. The issue you're running into isn't a lovely issue, it's a mod being incompatible with either another mod, or your version of smods, in a way that the mod dev probably isn't aware of

yeah, for sure, haha. There are mods like Ortalab, JoyousSpring or (my own mod) Kino, which are intended to be played without standard vanilla jokers, but yeah, that doesn't mean those are more balanced. I know @livid meadow was looking into a tool for people to make shareable sets of modded content so you can figure out your own intended balance and share those, but I'm not sure how far he managed to get, haha

This may be the wrong place for this question, but here it goes: For the past few days each time I have tried to open Balatro it has failed to actually launch. It brings up the Lovely screen (the black text box thingy), but Balatro itself doesn't ever show up.

This just randomly started happening and I don't know why.
