Okay after playing arknights I can certainly see how its different from reverse 1999 now

reverse has a more chill vibe with a historical, dark, cozy aesthetic while arknights is more futuristic and like a graphic designers passion project

and while arknights characters aren't nearly as eccentric and diverse across the board, the tradeoff is that it's gameplay is... tenfolds as interesting

as a tower defence enjoyer, i've been particularly engaged in that aspect, ( and it certainly did classes than pvz2 ever coul lol )
