An old band I used to be in had each member of the band as a tarot card (so like instead of a normal business cards, We’d offer “a hand” face down and let them pick one, with a tarot card representing each of the band mates and, in a jokey way, also telling the person their fortune)

I'd definitely add some condition to make this less beneficial to high Card builds. Anything with caring about unscored cards will probably benefit High Cards, but I think the best design approach is to have any joker that synergizes with High Card builds be potentially better suited in another hand type build

I will say, in Kino, I have a lot of permanent upgrade jokers, and I think every time I do a balance update I have to nerf some because even low values start to become problematic quickly. Though +3 on unscored is basically a hiker downgrade so I think that design will probably survive

1. starting with coding and modding in general, and want to use the experience from using joker forge to understand how the code should look like
2. just making a fun, goofy mod, and not wanting to put too much effort into coding

Balatro modding is very easy outside of some initial hurdles like if you're a total layperson learning how to set up a work space. The main issue with learning it is probably that the learning curve's slope is pretty light but just becomes pretty steep for a small section, like when you're first needing to learn about hooks, and lovely patches, or UI stuff

Haha, I think a lot of people are burnt out on Cryptid, in part due to them constantly releasing unclear or broken versions, so there's the risk of having to get pinged in arguments by people telling you why cryptid isn't good when you say that 😛

Haha, I'll defend it the teeniest bit by explaining that Cryptid for ages had no active devs here, and constantly released broken versions so a lot of the people here have some frustration build up with doing troubleshooting and install help for a mod that's kinda its own secular community. (All this to say, honestly, is if you enjoy Cryptid, please leave a message on their server telling them to set up releases better so its less confusing to install, haha)
