Hello everyone, I just started using mods (a lot of them 😂), and after a few antes the game becomes super slow and every played hand takes a few seconds to calculate

I saw on YouTube runs with absurd scores and a lot of jokers and the game wasn't that slow in videos

Does using a lot of mods and enhancements on cards cause this slowness that I experience?

Make sure you avoid retriggers, those usually slow the game considerably. Otherwise there is a QoL mod that allows you to skip all animations, I think it's Nopeus.

it's not the amount of stuff you've got running (disabling anything with banner will still load that code, for example). The slowdown is very often do to players using a lot of retriggers or negative jokers in their builds, because they think it's something that'll lead to insane scoring, while in reality, you need to just build towards a rare handful of powerful jokers. Anything that starts retriggering cards or jokers 10 or 20 times will add relativelyh little score compared to adding a lot of calculation time

I think the difficulty in designing any joker that interacts with hyper operators (or even just exponential mult) is that it becomes the red line for the difficulty curve. I think it's why in Mayhem's case, the joker that has a chance to increase the operator is probably the most fun one, because it directly targets the issue of making all scoring monotonous and entirely defined by the joker with the hyperoperator

HyperAscendant (2 Ethereals) and Nexus (HyperAscendant + Surreal) will have scaling hyperoperators, however the hyperoperator level requires constant maintenance to be kept and the blind size starts scaling ludicrously
Getting to Ethereal will require heaps of effort, along with a limited number of rerolls and adaptive blind size
