Part of the problem is that if you'd design a poker game that has cards that count as any rank, it's not problematic for straight calculations, but it starts interacting with jokers weirdly. The reason a solution is possible really is just that a 5 card hand means you can still brute force check every single permutation. I think there are some inherent issues that come up when you also introduce shortcut and superposition. Though I don't understand math well enough to really know the proper details of that, haha

Oh yeah, I think that was one of the issues you run into and why you'd need to brute force it. There are circumstances in which the checking order for a quantum rank would matter and potentially block a quantum-rank inclusive straight from being found. If you'd only let each card be checked once, to avoid double counting, it might miss a more suitable straight. It'd basically force you to bruteforce every potential card each quantum rank could be and check it that way. Though I might be misremembering this argument, haha
