You're definitely looking in the wrong place, then. Check in the folder that appears when you select this for version.dll. If it's not 3,262 KB then it's an older version of Lovely and you'll need to delete it and replace it with the newest version 0.7.1 from here

if you don't know where that is it's %appdata%/Balatro

and you just have to download Cryptid from GitHub alongside provided Steamodded and Talisman on the same GitHub repository

if that doesn't work try installing lovely again and make sure that antivirus program doesn't delete it

you might have Windows Defender real time protection enabled so you might want to disable that to prevent it from deleting lovely

once you have made sure that lovely is installed you can boot up the game once and lovely will generate the mods folder for you in appdata

you'll know when lovely is installed if you see a black window with some gibberish text in it popping up before the game launches

if you are in full screen it might appear for a brief moment but you can try to alt tab and check if it's there

another common mistake is that some people installed the mods incorrectly
