skipping has always been a decent strat, you just have to know what you're doing. it gets better the more content you have in the game too, because mod tags tend to be a lot better on average and the shop is actually more likely to have good stuff imo

the rift-raft main mechanic, the void, is an extra deck you can put stuff into when opening packs

they become negative in there

It's a much deeper hole than just the missing module. You can check out the Lovely server for more info - even with Lovely sidestepping the changes and quirks of the different Love2D build, there are code changes that mean many mods won't be inherently compatible without some kind of translation layer involved, and that's a project that I'm not sure if even @umbral pilot is insane enough to sign up for
