To get started with balatro modding you really need to just be comfortable looking at code at some level. Know what a variable is, or what a function is. If you got that, then starting a mod is a very doable thing

Depends on what the pile of mods you're running is! It adds a lot of jokers and enhancements, so it might overrun the pool a bit, is my main hangup for people adding it to their mod lists, but I don't think it's mechanically incompatible with other mods!

so, Kino jokers get a power boost if there are 2 other jokers that share the same actor present. This can be made to trigger earlier with a voucher. But some jokers already get boosts if there's only 1 other joker present with the same actor. Or 1 other joker at all. But it's incredibly inconsistent

If it happened with every joker, it'd be because it accidentally counted itself as a separate synergy when checking. But it's only for some, which doesn't make any sense to me

I don’t use Joker Display but I want to hover over my Jokers to check their information

but somehow, this doesn't trigger the synergy yet (as it should, there should be a 3rd copy of Clown before that happens). Clerks, however, does synergize immediately when you spawn a second version of it. And I just can't figure out why

Oh, are you using Card.add_to_deck for Clown and context.card_added for Clerks

i think i do this for ancient / castle / invis / to do list and stop there

because the system is also position dependant in certain cases, and there's no calculate function that needs to happen between reordering jokers. The power boost also isn't like blueprint, so it buffs passive jokers as well, if I've set it up properly, meaning sometimes there's no calculate function to use to set it.

I've spawned them in identically and the code runs independent from anything on the joker

neither does anything with add_to_deck

except the entire system, but that accounts for it, and should recalculate anyway if you move the jokers

but Clerks power also doesn't decrease if you remove the second copy, like all other jokers do, somehow

As it still thinks there's a second joker providing synergy

It can't have anything to do with specific card related things, as there's nothing in the code that checks for anything on the joker itself besides retrieving the cast list

I've found the issue. One actor's credited as multiple roles in the same movie, but as separate credits, not a single credit for multiple characters.

Which I didn't account for in the metadata set up code, which seemingly doesn't prefer doubles properly

Oh, c is from the 70s c++ is from the 80s. C is meant for operating systems and stuff, c++ is generally purpose from the gate
