i would say i really started to learn learn pixel art around 2018 i think, around when binding of isaac afterbirth was announced along side its modding engine, so i joined a modding team (it didnt go anywhere)

then after that i lingered in the risk of rain discord, became friends with the person who would go on to make the risk of rain modloader (they got hired at hopoo later, theyre responsible for a good bit of risk of rain returns) so i made spritework for some mods then

then i did art for slay the spire and such but i always did pixel art in the background, for stuff like isaac and LISA

but i always adored old GBA games

that's a bit tougher, i'm not an expert in pov-ray and it would probably be better to render it out with blender then where uv mapping is MUCH easier

basic workflow for these jokers was this:
