It's more likely that your antivirus deleted version.dll in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Balatro, make sure you've whitelisted it in whatever AV you're using

that was more modern than the one that the mod manager installs

What version of BMM are you using? This could be caused by an old bug that merged folders instead of deleting them when reinstalling

Hm, that's surprising. Try:

• Delete all the Talismans you have installed in BMM
• Check to make sure there's nothing left in the Mods folder
• In BMM go to Settings and Reindex mods
• Install Talisman again through BMM

I believe the obstacle with BMM on Linux is because the internal browser used by BMM doesn't support Linux, so the solution is either to tear it out and use a different one (which the dev has made some steps towards), or wait for WebView2 to fix their Linux compatibility
