The Xbox GamePass version is not currently supported by Lovely, there are compatibility issues that make it hard to give an ETA on if or when it might be supported down the road.

You can manually mod it by changing files in C:/XboxGames/Balatro/Assets, but it's much more difficult

Basic texture and audio swaps are very easy, those files can just be dropped in, but everything else would require you to modify the lua code by hand.

Mods installed by diff patch would most likely work, like the first version of the [Mobile like Dragging](#1328170752410652742 message) mod.

For everything else, for starters you'd need to change main.lua or game.lua to load the mod, preferably as a module.

Mods with Lovely patches would have to be patched in manually - you would have to read each lovely .toml file, find the corresponding place in the code that it's referring to, and replace or add the patch by hand.

Mods that requires Steamodded would be an insane amount of work to manually patch, as smods makes so many changes to the codebase that it would take a crazed madman to even attempt it.

Your time is almost definitely better spent on buying the Steam version instead imo, unless you really enjoy fixing unnecessary problems
