the calculations screen only shows up if the game takes long enough to calculate (i forget how long, a frame?)
so if you crash before getting that op, yeah, you'll never see it

steammodded depends on lovely, basically. lovely basically injects the code into the game, while steammodded handles that code. Think of it like injecting medicine, lovely is the syringe, while steammodded is the medicine.

My update.dll is 3342336 bytes large on the disk (can't get Ubuntu to show it in kilobytes), which I think is wrong but re-downloading the file doesn't get me a different size, so I can't see anything wrong with it. I am playing on Ubuntu using Proton 9.0-4 but AFAICT that shouldn't be causing any issues, it's running perfectly fine besides Mods not showing up.

I can't think why it just isn't working, I haven't done anything wrong AFAICT.

Hey guys, so we modded the game way back last year and just decided to not let Balatro update so that all the mods would still work. It looks like a handful of the mods we use (for example the neow slay the Spire mod) haven't been updated. If I were to update balatro/steamodded/lovely, do all mods also require an update? Or is there a way to make the older mods backwards compatible?

I didn't think to initially but I rechecked the installation steps and realised it. It still doesn't show the purple "Mods" button, making me think it's not launching properly.
Now Balatro launches with some sort of terminal window thing that shows "Lovely 0.7.whatever", but it still doesn't show me the purple "mods" button, so I think Steamodded is somehow the issue.
