hey, quick question here, is crypytid compatible with other mods using new calc? Cause i've been following the install guide from Steamodded and it says to paste smods-main in Mods folder, but whenever that folder is alongside the cryptid ones game crashes. I remove the smods-main and it works again.
Any ideas?

ok, jokes on me, game crashes. Was looking through the new modded decks and suddenly:
is it cause of the cryptid version or some kind of incompatibility?
that might just be the code deck crashing iirc
whenever i try to see the green deck, not sure of the name
what does the cryptid mod add? the github just says its an unbalanced mod
as little as i know, around 200 jokers, boss blinds, and yeah, unbalanced gameplay
Also a bunch of decks, consumables (including a new type, code cards), vouchers and more
some say it's fun seeing numbers go wild, other say it takes the fun away from the game cause it turns it trivial
It adds a ton of things, a lot of which is actually balanced, but the couple that aren't are super duper gamebreaking.
What sets apart is how unique the ideas are; Code cards for example have meta effects, like one that allows you to visit a shop during a round.
But there's stuff that's absolutely beyond broken, like a joker that gives you 0.1x mult for every member in the Cryptid Discord, which means it gives you I think over 1,000x mult.
Personally, I play with it, along with around 30 other mods and most importantly, the Item Remover mod which allows me to prevent jokers I don't want from spawning.

playing modded balatro has been a bit tough bc some mods work on their own, but break in combination to other mods
I never got it to crash, aside from the "double-sided" edition cards which are unintentionally broken.
Then again, I never got crazy with it. Just the good ol' red deck.

typically most mods work quite well with each other
there's been some movement within steamodded as of recently, and not all mods have made that switch yet. that's the biggest source of conflict rn

It's not 100% stable but these are the mods that work for me relatively fine.

If you encounter a crash related to a joker, reload your save and sell your jokers until you found the one that crashed when playing your hand, then disable it by clicking on it in the collection.
With this config, I think I already disabled plenty of ones that either crash or don't work (have no effect), plus some other super unbalanced jokers like the one about discord member I mentioned earlier.
fyi this is old calc, and this is pretty much every good quality mod I found for it that work, minus deck mods because I usually play with vanilla decks.
And there's already over 50 decks so...

Getting this crash error with Cryptid, anyone know how to fix it?
I've got this idea for a mod that adds joker evolution and EXP as a new second currency that gets earned from random blinds and new jokers.
Basically it's based off the pokemon TCG where evolutions place the card on top of another card, evolutions, unless stated otherwise will stack effects on top of each other. It'll probably be wildly overpowered but i kind of like that
there is that but this one is a lot more complex
you could build it from similar bones
i could maybe, though i'm pretty sure they have their own thing
i'm probably not even gonna make this into more than just a fun concept though, i am no good at code much less modding code

Hi! I'm trying to get the Lobotomy Corp Mod to work for the mac version of Balatro. I tried to use the most recent version of Steamodded and followed the installation process, but after the game loaded, it crashed, with the error

Trying to switch to the old-calc version of Steamodded to see if that would work, but I can't find the smods-main directory
I also submitted this issue in the github for the mod, but I thought it wouldn't hurt for me to ask the Discord for help
LobotomyCorp uses the latest version, and that crash only happens when a mod can't load due to incorrect Steamodded version

As far as I know, there's no limit to how many antes you can go to in the vanilla game

there are some mods with other apis like balamod

that uses steamodded, dont use whatever steaminjector is, as far as i know you wouldnt be able to use both steamodded and steaminjector

if they're using different scripts for the jokers, you may be able to delete them in the mod

This will give you the result you want, but if you want to remove specific jokers or other features you can go to the source code
Let's use Blinds as an example.
In your Balatro mods folder, navigate to \Cryptid\Items and find Blinds.lua. (Different types of items will be contained in different Lua files in this folder.)
Towards the end of the file, there's an array named items_togo, near line 1230. You can disable specific Blinds by deleting the relevant lines here. These settings will take effect on a restart. Most other files will have a similar items array near the bottom of the file that you can modify to remove specific things from Cryptid. This system will be changed to be in-game before Cryptid 0.6.0.

I've never come across this format before, is this essentially ^2^2 and ^2^2^2 respectively, or is it some other formula?
I'm just here scratching my head because I thought I was fairly good at math. I know this is a big number, but what I'm trying to figure out is how the math is being worked.

tetration has INSANE scaling, example - 2 to the first tetration is just 2^1 which is 2, the the second is 2^2 which is 4, to the third is 2^2^2 which is 16 since you just get your base number and put it to the power of the last answer, so 2 to the 4th tetration would be 2^16 which is about 65000, and after that it coninues, your ^^^3 is x^3^3^3 aka x^729

what mods are you running?
You have morespeed and nopeus in there, I believe the two might be conflicting, not sure.
Both are speed altering mods and it might be that one's kinda trying to override the other.
I also see some duplicate mods in there
e.g. MoreFluff and MoreFluff-main, CardSleeves and CardSleeves-main
make sure you don't have any duplicates like that
Yeah, if you're running Jen's collection, you'd want a clean setup like this:
(I do have a few extra jokers mods that I've tested and confirmed working with the Jen's Mods collection)
Only thing I can advise is to try clear out mod folder and reinstall mods. Clean install

The button is too dark and makes the selector not centered with the page it’s switching
But even beyond that, this isn’t what galdur is designed to do
It should show all the decks in the selection screen, not have certain ones toggled into a different menu
It’s just not clean or intuitive UX

i got it to work by changing my allowed apps to anywhere in privacy and security. the option to do that pops up by running sudo spctl --master-disable in the terminal

Very very unfamiliar with modding but does it have to be on a separate menu screen, like is it possible for when the button is press to do an animation of the deck images flipping over and showing the tattered decks and then you can select from them.
